    I used to have a friend who owned a farm somewhere between Nelsonville and Logan. We were both car guys, and one summer day I drove my '86 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe out to his farm so we could put a bunch of go-fast parts on it.
    While we were taking a break from working on my car, I was looking over an early '70s Plymouth Satellite that was just sitting there in the grass. He saw me looking at it and said, "Wanna take it out for a run?"
    Just a few minutes later we were booking down this narrow country road at interstate speeds, this old rattle-trap Plymouth bouncing all over the place because the suspension was shot. I think it had a 340 or a 383 but it seemed to be down one cylinder. I didn't realize the brakes were barely working until we needed to slow down to turn for the driveway.... it was more than a little alarming to watch this guy stand on the brake pedal with two feet and feel the car barely even respond to it. We made it back in one piece but the Plymouth was puking hot transmission fluid out from somewhere underneath.

    Ah.... that was day of freedom in Ohio. :D
