I was feeling inspired after literally looking at all 99 pages of this forum. Camper comes in a week or so.

 

This is my set up, allows for storage underneath I use some plastic storage totes with wheels

just customized it, its an ARE DCU Cap

 

Interesting, it looks twice the height of a normal cap. Perfect for having a platform and being over 6ft tall!

 

Is there a thread for Sleeping Platforms/ Drawer Storage systems for 3rd Gens? I have a 2020 with a 6ft bed and am looking for plans/dimensions to build something like this.

 

I purchased a bed drawer system from a 3rd gen longbed owner, and it fits perfectly on my 2nd gen. I believe the internal measurements are identical.

 

Pretty sure there was no change to the internal dimensions. Toyota is using the same bed from the 2nd gen.

 

This is going to make things interesting for building a platform.

At least 1/3 the trucks on this site have never used their bed for anything anyway.

 

Both sides have the ability to detach with 4 secure mounting points, but it will take about 5 minutes per side to take them out.

The new option for the 2021 Tacoma "trail" edition. Lockable storage in the back, the driverside is insulated and can be used as a cooler.

They can come out but yes, they do look idiotic.

 

And those that do have widely varying requirements. I like the idea of using the empty bedwall space but not so much the idea of doing this instead.

 

I like the idea that they are thinking of different ways to use the bed. I had a ridgeline previously, and I loved the under bed storage compartment.

Because I'm not a sheep bashing on what's not cool? Truck was great, with some awesome features. Many people would benefit from it over a tacoma. Plus the frame cant rust apart.
