Painting rear drums and transfer case

Has anyone painted their rear drums or their rear transfer case? If so, post pics. I'm thinking of doing either or both. I already bought the kit to paint my front calipers and plan on doing that sometime this week or weekend.

I painted the rear drums...Same black on the rims-with a rattle can...It's boring to look at but here you go...Shows how the center matches the rims and who the black blends in:




I felt that coloring the drums would have been a bit over kill.
Haven't thought about painting the x-fer case.

 

I've seen painted t-cases on bigger trucks that have been lifted - Chevys, fords, etc. But not sure if it would look funny on the Taco. You really can't see it too well unless you're up at least 6" I think.

 

Yeah...It's tucked in there pretty good....if you went with a bright color prolly would pop out enuf.

What color calipers are you going with??

 

red calipers, red skid plate. I'll decide later on the drums.

Are you talking transfer case or rear-end housing? You said "REAR" transfer case which leads me to believe you meant the "pumpkin. Could be wrong but the "rear" part has me confused.

 

Ironic that the "rear" part has you confused after looking at your sig.

 

Ok, what does it mean to you? Why would you paint a transfer case which is tucked up in the frame rails with minimal exposure from any angle other than you being ran over by the truck.

 

A lifted truck you can see it....depending on the lift and the "optional equipment"

 

Ok, let's go back to the original question......he asked about the "REAR" transfer case. We can wait for him to explain it I guess.

Yes, I meant the rear of the pumpkin.

I stated earlier in the thread, on the Toyota, it probably wouldn't be as visible. However, I almost did it when I had my Chevy back in college that had a 6" lift. I was on my way home this evening and saw a lifted Ford that had it painted and it just reminded me of it.

However, I glanced under the truck and found that it's pretty "tucked away" - much more than on a full size American truck.
