Pulled a fairly easy triple at 415 today. Probably had a couple left in the tank. Then dropped down to 335 for 3 sets of 7 and wanted to die.

I really miss the high energy and mental clarity of keto. It is like a light switch as he said.
Plus I found my recovery to be pretty spectacular with the increased fat intake. My fats were about 55% of my intake. I still followed the 1g of protein per pound of body weight rule.
Keto is relatively anti-inflammatory and I think that aids in recovery.

The last 4 months I have been able to exercise more than any other time in my life, have more energy, and the best recovery. Also got my body fat down the lowest I’ve ever been.

Unfortunately, you do lose top end performance on your high intensity work, but carb cycling provides a work around to that.

I have the fiance on Keto right now. Thinking about doing a refeed for her. I just don't know much about the keto life.

    Week 1 - 21c 116f 144p weight 130# 30 min cardio
    Week 2 - 21c 110f 140p weight 129# 35 min cardio
    Week 3 - 20c 100f 138p weight 127.4# 35 min cardio
    Week 4 - 12c 90f 152p weight 126.4# 35 min cardio
    Week 5 - 12c 90f 152p weight 125.7# 45 min cardio
Week 6 - Might lower protein to 130. Cardio to 1 hour. She's not losing like I want. Could be needing carbs, maybe lower fats? I don't know.

Cosmetically, she's making good progress - however not as much as we want. She begins to stall at 125 weight, this is what is my concern. Always happens...

Check out ketogains. They have more information on keto for specifically for physique manipulation.

What I have been reading between the keto and IF that lower the fat if the goal is fat loss. You want your body to use body fat for ketones not necessarily dietary fat intake.
I’d keep carbs at 20-30g net and not deprive too much under the 20g mark. Nutritional ketosis is all we need, putting carbs lower doesn’t help more if that makes sense.

So I’d actually go for lower fat and get on an IF schedule of 16:8. The IF really encourages your body to use body fat as fuel obviously because with dietary restriction it can’t use the food you eat. So IF for body fat loss and keto helps continue to promote that through insulin control.

So I’d do 20-30g of carbs, keep everything the same and start IF 16:8. Then if you need to in a couple weeks drop some fat.

I’m sitting in my preop now. I will come back and link some resources I’ve found that you guys may find helpful.
Ketogains is really good though. They preach, carbs are a limit, protein is a goal, and fat is a lever.

Right on. Only reason carbs dropped is some of the foods had carbs and when we pulled those foods, that was the result. I feel we started her high on fats, however we had no idea what she was even eating, since she just lost her mind after her shows. All good though we recovered... She wants to get back into shape again.

I've pushed the IF so much, but she just "cannot" go without food in the morning :boom:

If I can make it to 10, she can make it to freaking noon. Anyway... Ok, sounds like I may pull up the carbs a little and drop down the fats.

    She said no :cookiemonster:
