Do i need wheel spacers for any type of rock crawling wheels to fit on my 3rd gen tacoma? I heard front calipers get in the way.

this is why I went with method racing aluminum rims.. ye if I damage them they'll likely never repair, but thats why I'm getting a spare. a 17" steelie should fit, but all depends on how the outer rim was formed as well as backspacing.

again this is all dependant on what shape the outer ring was made. this has to be fairly high as the calipers stick out a bit. typical steel wheels the rim valley is too low to fit the calipers.

Would some pro comps with "D" window and 0 offset work?

Most Pro comp 16" alloys work. That's what I run. Was like $100 per wheel.

Lots of info about steel wheels in this thread

To avoid needing spacers any wheel you use will need to be a least 16x7 w/30mm offset and a 106.1mm center bore.

Trying to put some steelies like these.. but 16's hit the front calipers. Anything that might fit similar to these and steelies?

    Still thinking about it.
Stock steelies are the shizz.... I wish I could get them in zero or slightly positive offset.

Why do you need them with zero or slightly positive offset.
I run FJ steelies and 285’s. No rubs. Not sure what the offset is, but I have zero issues.
