Crap, that puts my calculations off by .655. That means I've got either missing, or inaccurate data someplace.

Did you happen to weigh the bumper before installing it the first time? I know I didn't account for the weight distribution, since I don't know what it is. (So, there is some missing data.) Did the 880 coil give you 1" as stated by toytec?

Lots of questions I know, it's just going to annoy me until I can account for the difference in the calculations and the actual lift.

I did not weigh the bumper prior to install. Also to take away from this that I'm running synthetic line on the winch and the springs haven't settled yet. The weight of 100' 3/8" Amsteel blue with thimble is 3.8lbs. I'm not saying that it's enough to make that big a difference but with settling and the difference between synthetic and steel cable might be why your math seems off.

Even compensating for the difference in weight it's still off by .56, some of that will settle sure, but I don't think all of it. hmm....

Looks great. My lift will be on tomorrow and I will send out some pics also.

Far as calculating the springs......I heard the calculations on the springs and the lift achieved varies from truck to truck and is never exact. Thats why ARB does not recommend the 882's for a 4cyl truck. Each set of springs are a match when sold but.......If you take 2 pair of springs and put them on identical trucks the lift on each truck may be different. Like I said.......Thats what I was told

Makes sense to me because if you take 2 pieces of metal and make springs from the pieces how could you make them the exact same strength ?

OK Guys, I now have the OME suspension on my truck. For those who are interested this is what I have and what I got put on it.

2004 Tacoma 4cyl engine ext cab with ARB Bullbar and 9500 Milemarker Hydraulic winch.

Kit included the following as ordered by me:
    Front:
    OME 881 Springs
    OME Nitocharger Sport Shocks
    10mm Trim Packer

    Rear:
OME Dakar 5 leaf , leaf springs
    OME Rear Shocks
    All new bushings
    Greasable Shackles
    Exhaust Bracket
U Bolts ( I forgot to order these but they are needed )

4 Wheel Parts (Marietta, Georgia) was where the kit was put on. Contrary to what I had heard about 4 wheel parts, I think the guy that installed my kit (He drives a Gray Tundra) did an extremely good job. Even though I am a very picky customer I have no complaints at all, not one. There is no vibrations, squeaks, wobbles, or anything except a very smooth ride that I would recommend to anyone that has a Tacoma. When I was ordering my kit I forgot to order longer U Bolts and the fellow that was doing the install actually took his off of his Tundra and put them on mine so we could go ahead and install the kit. They fit great and we had no problems. Nothing but good service at the Marietta store for me.

Well I went ahead and measured it before dark. The before measurements were all over the place because my springs were in bad shape. From the ground at tire center to fender is where the measurements were gathered. Keep in mind I went with the 10mm trim Packer because of my weight at 330lbs

    Before Lift:

    Front Passengers side - 35 1/4"
    Front Drivers side - 35 3/4"
    Rear Passengers side - 36 1/4"
Rear Drivers side - 36" even

    After Lift:

    Front Passenger side - 37 3/4"
Front Drivers side - 38" even
    Rear Passengers side - 37 3/4"
    Rear Drivers side - 37 3/4"

Unless the front settles a lot, I'd say the 881 spring are the way to go on the 4cyl ext cabs with the winch and bumper. The truck rides great and I can tell it has good support for the added weight.

Just to let everyone know, I have had the lift on for 2-1/2 months now and the truck still rides as good as it did and the springs don't settle much. The rear springs are an amazing upgrade. I ended up getting the 5 leaf Dakar rears and my truck rides better but when a load is placed on the rear, It no longer squats like a female dog peeing. If any of you are considering getting front springs and keeping your stock rear which was what I considered doing, I say get the 5 leafs. Biggest improvement of all on the lift in my opinion. The front rides very nice, but its irritating to put 700LB in a truck and it look like its gonna break. The Dakars will take care of that after you get them.

    cool, thanks for the update.

my 881's on my v6 ext cab have settled wuite a bit. When i first put them on the front measurement was right around 38", which was a 2.2" lift over stock. Since install (2 months and ~750 miles), I'm at 37". So, a 1.2" lift overall. Not reall happy with that so I may go up one notch on the billys, or go for 882's. Or maybe try the toytec/eibach springs.
