I don't think you realize the only thing that might be reliable to @Norilsk is a tank. And even then it's questionable

This is probably the most comprehensible list of what does what i've seen yet. Didn't know each brand had its own gimmick, because of my ignorance, i always assumed it's all the same :notsure:

But now vaguely knowing what digressive, progressive, and linear are (which before your comment i never knew was a thing, i apparently suck at research)... i'm gonna need to go back into looking at things again. because as how you mentioned it, i don't know if the 6112s would be good now. Not saying this because i'm an indecisive cunt, it's because i am an indecisive cunt :p

So from the sounds of things, Linear valvings and the similar stuff (apparently Elka has a switch or something that just changes the bias between progressive and digressive...) is sort of the best of both worlds then, where it'll eat most of the small stuff and the large stuff, but not as well as the other 2 spectrums, which i'd be generally fine with.

Hey, it's not me it's Toyota (they don't make them like they used to:duh:)

Fvicking keeps sending me busted solenoids for the locker, 2 in a row already and 3rd one coming up today.
Fvicking leak detection pump is too exposed and sucks mud dirt, now I need new one and maybe canister too. :goingcrazy:
Fvicking interior plastic worse than 20 year old Tercel after just being used 2 years, even 2nd gens were more durable.:argue:
Fvicking e-actuators, haven't broke yet one :fingerscrossed:
    Fvicking TSS windshields prices :bananadead:
    Fvicking drum brakes... :annoyed:
    Fvicking Toyota :stirthepot:

If they were selling Ladas here I would be on LadaWorld already.... :lalala:

    /end of rant

It was carefully engineered luck :spy:, suspension wise it worked very well :bikewhoops:

honestly I have been running old man emu shocks for over 100k. Is the ride the best out there? No, not even close. Can I do fast stuff? No. Were they decently priced and do everything I want? Yes.

    Things to consider.
-Don't waste money on a spacer
-try to stay away from preloading a shock, get the proper spring
-bumpstops will do allot for your ride.
-consider our winters. If you have a shock that is adjustable, you better be doing maintenance on it so you'll be able to do your adjustments.
-Consider your use-more clearance/travel for offroad, better ride....If its go fast dessert stuff, are you beefing up the rest of the components so the rest of the truck can keep up with the suspension?

6112s don't work with factory springs. They need springs with closed and ground ends like all the 2.5" coilovers available for our trucks.

Get 6112s with 700 lb King springs and run them at whatever snapring setting that gives you the desired height (there are 6 grooves for fine tuning). Start with the lowest setting on the pass side and 2nd lowest on the driver's side.

any reason for the king 700 over the eibach 700? going to be swapping 700lb coils onto a fox 2.0 in a bit.

Fun fact, the fox 2.0 use springs meant for a 2.5 shock. The more you know.

Either is fine. My Icons came with 700lb Eibachs. King springs appeared more widely available.

noted. I haven't had to do research in a while, so just making sure I am up to date. Fox 2.0's with 700lb coils are what's going to be happening soon.

@Shveet I have a spring compressor if you'd like to go that route (although I almost lost a finger using it, so @tgelata method likely better).

    Could get this
    Could get that
Could get that kit that's $3000
Oh fuck it, what's another 2months of work just for a suspension kit? $6000 it is!

Ah shocks wear out over time so you’ll probably be revisiting it in a couple years anyways.

Do a u-bolt flip while your in there.

Shocks shouldn't fail THAT quickly. The Icons in my old truck went almost 8 years and counting with no maintenance.

but i need to take into consideration the gas and time it would take me to drive to Toronto and back o_O
if that cost outweighs the cost of renting one here on my end, then it no longer is cheaper.

Nothing in the world is more expensive than free
    -Melvin Williams

Unless we somehow meet up whenever is most convenient for the both of us like on Feb 22nd/23rd, 2020 for a possible TEQ group meet up with everyone, then yes - it will be cheaper than renting it out at some box store :D
