Lovely weather we're having today. Nearly died twice when terrified soccer moms decided to swerve in front of me into the passing lane because they suddenly got brave but decided to still drive below the speed limit...

 

Montezuma's is good also.

 

Wife just called me and told me that our house lost power. She doesn't know how to get the car out of the garage. haha. I had to tell her about the lever that she needs to pull on the door to disengage it from the track.

 

Thanks man, time to order a new pair then. It was pretty rusty when it was taken out.

 

Yeah we lost power too. I just don't let my wife park in the garage. The garage is for work.

 

This is the first house with a garage we've ever had when we moved in 18 years ago. It was great coming home during a storm and pulling the little subie right in there. Since it's attached to the house there was no reason not to shut the door and enter the house through it. No need to have any keys on us.

Until we came home to a power outage.

So it's August, in the woods, in the rain. Basically 80+ degrees and 100% humidity. It was not comfortable trying to sleep in that little car. No vent visors so no circulation. No umbrella. It was easy for me to take a piss, not so much for Debbie.

What a miserable night.

Now we keep all the house keys with us.

I still need to fix my twisted radiator core support. Undecided on whether i should find a truck thats been totaled in the rear and cut the front end off of it, or just patch my core support in sections...

 

Why dont you just buy a new radiator support?

 

I don’t really want to replace 150 some spot welds when only the driver’s side is mangled

 

They are not that many, and all it takes is a drill and re-weld

 

So this is what happens when you listen to your dad and take a roadtrip in his 46k mile Ford. I told'em I'll drive and we can take my 4runner but he insisted on driving his Ford. We went to leave from the Outdoor show in Harrisburg and immediately after he started it the engine light came on, temp quage shot to H along with a loud ringing noise and the shitbox wouldn't go over 5mph. It was in limp mode. I was able to borrow a programmer out of a F250 diesel truck and use that to clear the code. Luckily we made it home. I'll stick to my faithful 20yo 230k mile 4runner for now one.
