What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I guess it depends on where you are tagged. In va if you have a cap the exhaust has to exit to the rear or side. It is to help prevent carbon monoxide(spelling) poisoning if somebody rides in the back

 

make sure that isnt a fail on ur inspection.

Some folks can get away with it if they find an inspector that doesn't care. Like exterior LED lighting it is illegal here but many get them and retro fit headlights passed with no questions.

there is a note for pickup trucks

NOTE: Exhaust pipes must direct the fumes to exit from underneath of the vehicle to the sides or rear most area.

NOTE: Exhaust pipes must extend behind the cab or rear axle of pickup trucks or utility trucks.

I didn't see a bed cap requirement....I am about to get my inspection and my exhaust is cut just over the axle so we shall see.

 

Mine's been cut like that for years and never had an issue.

 

I failed once for it years and years ago. It may have changed hence my latter post

 

I don't either but I also remove my Best Top for inspection. I do it mainly because I have been too lazy to hook up my third brake light in the Best Top

yeah last year they got me for my third brake light

Yeah I have seen them....I figured they were just a jeep version of a chase light.

Offroad / auxillary lights are no longer an issue. As long as they are above the headlights and are off.
