Theres no problem when driving the car, the issue is turning the car on from parking then it would overheat. But the video was uploaded in Aug 2019 so they might updated their hardware now, not sure.

Yes, works great, I used a garmin gps sync cable and my 45w dash cam displays a this cable will not charge this device notice but it has stayed fully charged for 3 days now. From what I can decipher from their website it will charge it just not as fast

Not too familiar with dash cams, but my worry has always been that I will forget to turn them on. Is there a way to get them to power on automatically when you turn the truck on, and turn off when the truck turns off? How does storage of the recording work? Is it looping and writing over the existing footage so that you don't have to constantly delete data to make room?

My only experience is with garmin 45w. It comes on when you start the truck and goes off when you shut down. It has a mini card in it. If I remember right it records 4 hours and then overwrites. Has a button you can push to save what’s there and auto saves on any impact.

The Garmin Mini Dash Cam automatically turns on and off with the ignition (I'm not sure how other dash cams work but I have to imagine they all work in a similar way). The recording loops but there is a button that allows you to save the current footage so it's not overwritten. It's pretty much set and forget.

Just ordered this harness and a Rexing V1-4K dash cam. Thanks for posting. Should be a super clean, set and forget install.

Yes, the harness plugs into mirror and the mirror plugs plugs into it, just has a USB port added

Is it fairly easy to get SD card out while camera is behind the mirror or do you need to take the camera down?
    Thank you.
