What's the best (proper) way to lift the front end an inch? New coils and shocks?
I don't want to lift all four corners, just trying to get that "level" look like the Pro.

Do you stay on pavement pretty much all the time?

Ya, pretty much. Spent a lot of time off-roading in my younger years but not so much anymore.
Occasional two tracking would be the extent of it.

Put some 1/2” spacers on top of the coilovers and call it a day. Toytec, Headstrong carry them.

Wouldn’t it make it ride stiffer?

No issues there. You do need a wheel alignment after.

There is a slight chance you will need an ecgs bushing. Doubt it though. You will know if the truck is vibrating after lift.

It just sounds unnatural to me to get lift with shocks. The springs set the ride height don’t they?
    Am I missing something?

You are correct in that shocks alone will not provide lift, but with our shock/coil design you will as you can change where the spring sits on the shock by altering where they sit - the "perch" on the shock. That, along with different length/weight springs, will alter the ride height.

    Got ‘cha.

But am I correct to understand you can also increase height with 5100 shocks alone? Or do you need to use these in conjunction with a spacer?

As yes, that’s what I meant. Thx.

So, you can install adjustable 5100s and tune them up to set the height without spacers?

Yes, they get set at whatever notch you want, preloads the spring and you get your lift.

If you get different springs you can get the lift without adjusting 5100’s.

Alrighty, so I guess there’s several options:

    Spacers.
    Adjustable shocks.
New coils with new shocks to suit. (Are shocks required?)

    Does that about cover it?

I’m assuming maintaining the ride quality would rank as:
    1) Coils and shocks.
    2) Spacers (but spacers to get 1” of lift may not be noticeable).
    3) Adjustable shocks.

Thanks for the help guys. Just trying to get this squared away in my mind.

The Bilstein 5100s might effect the ride more than a 1/2 inch spacer would. 5100s are known to be stiffer riding than factory shocks.

If I were you, I’d contact headstrong Offroad, tell them your goals and and they’ll get you what you need. If you want a little ride improvement on the cheap, 5100’s are a great option. If you only want to lift the front to level, you cab either get the adjustable front and use your stock springs, or get some ome coils for the lift height you want. Either option is better than your stock suspension.
