Ah shit, I meant to take the bumper off and the rest or this shit fell off too, anyone know what all I'm missing?

Go deeper.. Replace the cam and crank seals while you are in there.

 

And get on TDC.

 

Your commutator bypass valve is missing

 

The freaking timing chain is gone. Go back to a 3RZ

 

@Speedytech7 @Empty_Lord how do I check a Chevy inner tie rod end? It's a ball in cup style and moves freely but doesn't have much play.


The OTRE is a little easier to move in certain directions but is still pretty snug. Both parts can't be more than a couple years old Moog (boot isn't too torn up and they dry up pretty quick here) I think this shop (which is run by someone she knows) was trying to take her for a ride with their doom and gloom diagnosis. They were right about the ball joints being shot though....

 

Moving freely isn’t too bad. As long as it doesn’t have play in the socket

 

I leave one tire on the ground and jack the other up and see what moves when I turn that tire by hand

 

Fuck! Well good thing it doesn't sound important. Also my engine has the smooth valve cover.

One cam moved while I was fucking around. I'll put it all back when I put the belt on. It was on TDC when it came apart

I'm gonna deep clean everything while I'm in there. And put in the 105a alternator too

 

So I still have three sets of the thick rubber fender splash guard things I need to get rid of. Any takers at the lunchtable price of $40 shipped?

I didn't know you were sitting on that much material when I declined. Are they already cut out? I have a body lift that would need to be accounted for.

Yeah I cut them a week or so ago. Dont think theyd work with a body lift.

I got sick of the material getting in my way in the garage. So I went to town on it last week and ended up with 4 sets total. 2 are spoken for already.

I ended up snagging some from a truck at a pick n pull. Yours definitely look like they'd outlast the competitors though

 

Dangit. Oh well. That's a solid value for any members here. Maybe those things would help encourage me to get this body lift off this spring/summer...
