Sets the preload when they’re together - use a brass drift if needed to get it unstuck.

Thank you! The upper collars are a lot tighter than the lowers even after spinning a couple threads but I’m not afraid of giving them a good tap now.

    A thing or two...
The top blue collar is for preload. I believe the silver collars are stop collars for the upper spring. The lower is the stop and the other is a jam nut to keep the lower in place.

Did you loosen the SHCS that squeezes the blue collar to lock it in place?

Yea everything is loose. The upper silver aluminum collar spins it just seems really tight. It’s the same way on both shocks.

Like already stated, there are two collars because one is a jam collar to lock the other in place.

They are there to stop the top coil from compressing past a certain point.

Once the spring divider slider hits the collars you take the upper coil out of the picture and engage only the bottom spring.

You can use them for a lot of things depending on your coil spring rates and lengths.

They prevent your top coil from coil bind when set right.

They can be used for ride height adjustment if you are using a shorter top spring and longer lower spring

They let you tune when you want to go from the combined softer spring rate to a stiffer spring rate of just the lower coil.

There's a lot of different ways to use dual rate sprints to tune how you want your vehicle to sit and handle

As much as I need a tow rig and trailer for the Tacoma, I love my little dd car that gets good mpg and I don’t have to worry about.

Has anyone mounted air bumps to the insides of the frame rails? If so, have you had any issues? I’m struggling to find a good mounting place. B1010234-2DBD-465C-9C76-4938DEB37A98.jpg
