Another photo from the July 2011 Maine trip...

These people have had "THE OKEE QUEEN" since the 1990s! I have no idea if they're actually from Oklahoma, because it doesn't seem like someone who lives in Oklahoma would have a vacation home in Southern Maine!

 

Driving my Grandma's 2002 Lexus RX300 Coach Edition during the late July-early August 2011 Maine trip...

This was the very first summer I had a driver's license!

My cousin used to volunteer at the Washington Navy Yard, and we went there when I went to visit this one time in August 2011...

 

My aunt, Grandma, and cousin drove up from Virginia in my Grandma's 2000 Buick LeSabre Limited for a visit, and then I went back to Virginia with them for this trip (I took an AmTrak from DC into Philly to get back home); The HVAC controls in my Grandma's car had a thermometer, and I took this picture of the display while we were somewhere in Delaware if I remember correctly...

102 DEGREES! Luckily, the A/C in the Buick worked really good!

 

The GassHole arrived yesterday...

 

But I can’t get this screw undone...

 

I already bent the fuel door and am gonna have to bend it back later; There's a hex nut on the other side of that screw that's impossible to get to as well!

 

That doesn't look too good, looks like the head is stripped.

 

Thats from the power drill; Refused to budge...

 

You should have sprayed PB Blaster on it beforehand and a power drill was not the best choice for that screw.

 

I would spray it down and let it soak for now and then maybe try an Easy Out to remove it, then you will need a new screw to replace it with.

 

My neighbor is helping me later.

 

Ok that's good to hear. Anytime you are working on something and things don't feel right just stop what you are doing. Sometimes you just need to clear your mind and think of a better way.

 

There’s metal tab on the internal bracing that I tried to bend backward to gain access to the hex nut; Didn’t go so well!

 

Right, it appears that way. Hopefully your neighbor gets it squared away for you. Did you get the rear bumper installed or are you gonna wait till warmer weather sets in?

Awesome! The 2nd Gen rear bumper is not too difficult to remove.

 

Well, it's been on there since it was installed following the drunk driver accident, so there might be some rust...
