I believe I have an issue similar to this with 5.29s. It seems to cut out around 6k rpm and drops for a couple seconds until it goes again. However it feels like a fuel cut to me.

The good news around this (for 4.88 and 5.29 guys)

We have full control over Gear ratios in the ECU, and the gear ratio algo,
    and can change it

so shift tabling can be corrected properly.
(the ECU rounds our 3.909 to 3.91, with actual calc of 3.9089x)

    gear Ratios.jpg

Lets see if it still occurs with our 5.29 map for 2019

Matt, it did not happen when I tow. It happened less when I used a different quality gas. It was like the fuel was burning so efficiently and truck speeding up so quickly that the rest of the systems were falling behind. Shifting does not start fast enough. Lower quality gas seems to not accelerate and hit that cut off so severely, it will still take a nasty dive but no where near as bad as higher quality fuel.

With added load- towing, larger tires, crappy fuel shifting works in time coordinated with fuel cut off

Is the TSB 0062-18 a necessity before any of the tunes? I have not purchased yet. My last TSB was 0077-16. Thanks.

Is the license not able to be transferred to a new computer? What if it broke or was just to old?

one more weird thing... in my area, the octane choices are 86, 88, and 91. So if I flashed 87 tune I guess I'd put 88 octane? Then I just couldn't use 93 tune I guess. Or does these fueling stations need to change the damn stickers on the pumps!!

Soon as we leave the Mexican restaurant And get in an area where I can I’ll do some wide open throttle runs and see if it happens. Only have about 2300 pounds now but was towing a little over 5500. However early shift to fourth is still quite present even when towing as it did it everytime we accelerated from a stop on the way from north central Alabama to Florida. Headed back to Alabama soon as food is gone.

Yes, use 88 octane for 87 tune. Are you at elevation?

I’ve been running 198000 I believe and I’m running 91 performance tune, is there a big difference between that and the 87 tune for when you are hauling stuff?
