That doesn't surprise me yet pisses me off at the same time. Hope that one day the VA can bring their standards up.

No Mayo Clinic, I work there. Ended up visiting endocrinology my endro system is messed up and dissolving bone. And found out have a bunch of kidney stones that if I'm not careful will grow and give birth to which is why they want me to lower my sodium. And I am overweight have been for years but now it is finally time to do something about it.

The dietitian I met with is retired AF and at the end we were talking about which Medicare supplemental retirement to take in a few years Tricare for life or Mayo's. Pretty much a no brainer and it isn't Tricare. Then she said that she'd like to see me live long enough after retirement to actually enjoy it. She got my attention.

I hope like hell that you are still in remission and sounds like you are. Part of Mayo Clinic is Mayo Medical Laboratories (MML) we do tests for places from all around the world. With state of the art equipment and fast turn around time, a lot of places can't afford that type of equipment accuracy it is expensive.

One of my friends I shoot with is a manager at the labs he started as a lab tech. This summer I told him I can't believe that my joint pain is just degenerative arthritis and not tick born disease also. He asked if they tested me for tick borne diseases and I said yes but it was negative but I didn't believe it was accurate. Adam stared at me and said if it came back negative then it was negative, and my problem was that I was older than dirt and falling apart. Damn kids these days...

I don't put much faith in lab tests. My sodium was a tick low, next time it was a tick high. I wasn't doing anything different.

I'd take the snow over the 3.5in of rain and associated flooding we've gotten in the last week

My birthday weekend so I figured I'd indulge in some fattys and mac. One philly style with cream cheese, bell peppers, onions. The other is ham, swiss, pineapple, and hoisin sauce. Both with some On Point. Now we wait.

Flooding sucks. Been 4 months since I've heard rain and will be another 2 yet. I kind of miss it. 3.5" of rain equals about 3 feet of snow.

Spent this afternoon chipping old snow that turned to ice out of the driveway with a root chopper after I put down 25 lbs. of calcium chloride.

    driveway ice chipping.jpg

Until my body got tired and sore enough said to hell with it. They are calling for 8 to 10 now. Sounds like a prison sentence.. At least with snow can still smoke, it is a lot harder in the rain.

    Pb stacker ready.jpg

Got the pellet hopper stacker on and support under it Jerry rigged for now. Ended up picking up a pork butt too not sure if that will fit with the ribs need to see if it will before the snow starts. Or just say the hell with it and do it in the morning.

Looks awesome and Happy Birthday Matt!

Question, I’m putting these ribs on tomorrow and they’re too long for the smoker. Should I cut a few off and cook them to the side? Does it matter if I stand them on their side rather than flat? Maybe dumb questions, first attempt at ribs.
