    2) How can the U.S. Government win the war on drugs and at the same time decrease the smuggling of cigarettes?
We can win the war on drugs is to legalize marijuana and tax it like crazy; in addition to making drug crimes more serious crimes with longer jail sentences. We would also need to allow border patrol to protect our borders more like farmers in the old west protected their property and allowing them to “defend” our country with lethal force. By doing this drug smugglers would be reduced in numbers and they would likely in time reduce their efforts due to the likely hood of being killed.
Some would argue that enforcing stricter drug laws with longer sentences would increase the number of people in our jail systems, but with the proposed legalization of marijuana it would cut out a large bulk of the drug arrest in this country. In doing so we would actually free up a lot of space in our jail systems, and if we really wanted to free up space in our jail systems we should do away with life sentences and strictly enforce the death penalty at a national level. Also by doing this it would decrease the number of people in the jail system, which by the way is also a large contributor to the smuggling of drugs in and out of prisons, and criminal activity being controlled from prisons.
The smuggling of cigarettes will continue to increase as the government attempts to continue to raise the taxes on the tobacco. If the government would simply reduce the amount of health insurance paid out by the government, to treat tobacco related illnesses then they could in turn reduce the taxes levied on tobacco. This does not mean that insurance companies would reduce the coverage provided, but the government would not pay out billions in Medicare and Medicate to people struggling with or dyeing of tobacco related illnesses. As bad as it might sound, if someone has cancer and only has 6 months to live and the government has to pay for the treatment over those 6 months, to make someone comfortable the government spends billions of dollars a year on cases like this, when the government could simply provide a check to cover a pain free release from life and funeral costs and save the American tax payer billions of dollars.
It is by saving all this money that we can focus more on stopping drug and human traffickers as well as reduce the need for people to smuggle tobacco in our country.

instead of the amount of time you wasted looking that up...you couldve been researching useful info for your paper...

just like if you got some self-discipline and maturity...you could remove yourself from TW (even if only temporarily for the evening) and turn off the TV...and do your work

you dont HAVE to watch football...

we'd all LOVE to watch football..i'd have LOVED to see a single snap yesterday...but there are things a little more important

im not gonna argue anymore.. smuggling can be anything, and you can "import" things from other states. while typicall it is from other countries the same logic applies to interstate trading

Enjoyed the time with my son and daughter in law. Wish the reason they came down was different, but it was still good to spend the time with them.

I hear ya.... did you ever post after pics? I saw the in progress
