209 TACOS - B/S and shenanigans

Sounds like a pretty good day.

 

Every day is a good day when you're wrenching on a truck.

 

Dude, I'm super bummed I missed out on the fun. Love me some disassembling.

 

Oh, we have plenty of disassembly to do tomorrow lol

 

Progress



Valve train looks pretty good.

 

Passenger side done... on to the driver side.

 

In case some of you don't look at the NorCal CL thread, here's some free stuff...

If you already seent it, just move along.

 

Driver side done... Intake back on... Cleaning the throttle body.

 

Valve covers done... waiting on the Amazon van to show up with the cam pulley removal tool.

 

Little more progress being made... camshaft pulley tool arrived last night. So we pulled them today, got the final cover off, removed the cam seals and replaced. Removed water pump, and now @RobertsT4R is out there cleaning everything he can get to with all the covers removed.

 

More progress has been made.

Water pump, thermostat, timing cover #3, cam pulleys, Ider pulley #1 and #2... and hydraulic tensioner are installed (hydraulic tensioner was a pain in the f'n ass, as always)

 

... And a bit more progress was made...



Still cleaning everything ss best we can as we go.

 

I don't like how the right side is lined up. I'll look at it again tomorrow. I think the cam pulley may have moved when I was putting the belt over it.

 

Took another look at the pulley. The pulley hash mark and the timing mark behind the pulley are lined up... So we put her back together.


Aaaaand... done

 

Also... The guy in the big brown truck paid a visit to @RobertsT4R today.

Got his new Mevotech UCAs from Rock Auto...
