So I am planning on running a steel bumper and possibly a winch upfront in the future, and I'm now looking into OME kits. I have a 2013 access cab 4x4 no other modifications that add weight. ideally, i want around a 3" lift
Which springs should I run with either the 90021 or the 90000?

Can anyone say anything or attest to any of these setups? I hear a lot of people going with 5100s with OME springs and Dakar leafs. I have heard mixed things on every set up. I have an 08 tacoma doublecab and am looking for as close to a 3" lift as possible. I have about 2K. I am going to keep the oem bumper and no winch but when i go places I pack a lot of stuff. However of course I am looking for a smooth/good ride. Mainly camping, boarding, back roads. Any help would be appreciated. I am leaning more towards the headstrong kit with 886s, dakar leafs, LR ucas

 

With nothing up front I'd go 885s for sure.

 

What is the main difference between 885s and 887s

 

I believe they're the same spring rate but 887s are taller. If you want 3" I take back what I said, go 887s.

 

So most likely I would want the 90021 and medium duty leafs then too right? I am just worried about too much sag if I go on a trip and load up the back with another person with me as well.

So i've been running OME since 2013 on the 2012 Taco. Its been a great lift. But since i've added an RTT, decked drawers, Pelfreybilt bumpers and a winch. I find it has become stiff. Running 2.5" 885's on 285/75 Nittos. I've been really liking Elka remote reservoirs lately. I know OME makes them too but Elka is made for Canadian winters. Thoughts? DC or normal?

 

Sorry if this seems a little mixed up as this thread spanned several days in Colorado BS thread. But the general consensus by several well known offroad shops and dealers of said products is that ARB (OME) refuses to even recognize that my issue is with the s curve above the axle, instead their focusing on the symptom that made me aware of the condition.

For you guys running the OME (ARB) HD leaf packs can you post pictures of your leafs. Please include your mileage. I've included pictures of my leaf pack to provide an example.
Hers a bit of back story to explain better.
"On 11/25/2018 I ordered a set of OME Heavyload

ARB EL096R LEAF SPRING HD

EL096R leafsprings from Low Range offroad and installed on December 10, 2018. Shortly after I noticed after I noticed that the springs appeared to be settling much lower than anticipated. I contacted Low Range and was informed that I would have to take it up with arb. Upon contacting arb I was informed that "it was normal settling". Fast forward to now and my leafspring appear to be developing a reversed arc. My truck is my daily I do not tow and besides my Allpro bumper and spare tire I rarely carry any additional weight."

 

This was about 25k on them...hard angle but if you zoom in you can see they were flat or slightly recurved:

They look flat lol but hard to tell from the angle if they've started to negatively arch right above the axle.
Looking at your diff I think I may have a sticker made

I have deavers now. No loss here.

 

Looks like I'm gonna go that route or alcan before they change ownership, but want to wait for ARB AU official response before I start changing things.

What did you put up front & what did you get?
Initially 884s/5100s set at 0 for 1.75" lift. Now with streamline bumper, winch and sliders, 886s/5100s set at 0 for 2.75" lift.
What did you put in back & what did you get?
Headstrong 3 leaf progressive AAL/5100s for 2" lift.

Are you running trail armor & how much lift did you lose or what did you do to regain/maintain lift?
Adding streamline bumper, winch and sliders I lost 1" of lift with the 884s. Added 886s.

Tire & wheel specs & rub or what you did to eliminate rub.
265/75/16 and no rubbing
Are you still running a sway bar?
Yes.

All measurements are hub to fender and approximate. Not taking into account for the taco lean.

When I first installed the 884s in 2017, the stated lift was supposed to be 2.25". The official stated numbers have now been revised to 1.75". Which is what I experienced. I went back on forth on getting the 886s. So many people said they rode rough. To me, with the extra weight up front, they ride perfect. Granted I just installed them 3 days ago. Yes they are stiffer but feel very compliant and controlled. I do not expect my truck to ride like an old school Lexus.
Initially the 884s felt slightly stiffer than the stock TRD OR supsension. Adding the weight made it bouncy. And I could really feel the weight on the front end. With the 886s, I no longer feel the weight and it feels better than stock.
