Well put post. I would love to find someone near me with just the TRD exhaust and compare it to the Borla in person. Videos shouldn't be used to judge.

Great post. The sound clips sound great. Is there any performance gain or fuel efficiency gains from it?

So I had the TRD Exhaust/TRD Intake-filter installed 2 days after I bought the truck. And while Im not sure there were any "gains" that would show up on a dyno, for the 6speed model, I feel like the Throttle response got better, and the truck revs smoother and quicker. The pedal felt snappier if that makes sense?

I won't argue with you too since they have the data to prove it but my seat in the pants can't tell. I don't know if they tested someone's dual exhaust that had single 2 1/2 in and dual 2 1/2 out which would make that argument true. With my set up I went with the single stock in and dual 2 1/4 out. Works great for me and a few others who have the same set up. $.02

    Stawk as FUCK!
Flowmaster 50 series is a great muffler choice, nicely done. Good sound improvement and not overly loud. Just the right mix imo. It’s between that and a Magnaflow right now for me, haven’t heard a Magnaflow on a 3rd gen 3.5 in person yet.

I had a magnaflow cat back exhaust system before this and it was LAF. Sounded great at start up and idle but drone was bad at 1500-2000 rpm. Model magnaflow 19291

I would be interested in an exhaust that increases power and torque but doesn't make the truck louder, what would be a good choice for that?

it doesnt exist. You asked for two contradictory things. LOL people like you are the reason the "aftermarket exhaust" industry is nearly ruined.

you literally cannot increase the ingestion&expulsion of combusted air through an engine to a point of "performance gain" while simultaneously incurring no noise increase.
you MUST break the egg to have the omelet.
I dont want to believe this was an honest question....

I have the Borla. Nice sound, easy install. It did seem to drone a bit at higher rpm, but after a couple thousand miles it has settled in nicely. I would not hesitate to do it again.

LOL Tacomaworld™ has no rock-bottom, im convinced of it.
lol and somehow 4 doors = wanting to defy the laws of physics?
-"I want more and more-powerful explosion!"
-"BUT it must also be quieter!"

its almost as if 4 doors has been around since time-immemorial in the "off-road" world.

contrarianism is a disease in the modern day. Refuting out-right reality is a virtue in the post facebook/reddit world of RESIST™
