It made me google A5 steak and I saw the average 12oz A5 steak is $350. The taste is described as “out of this world”

Smoked cheese and salmon sounds pretty good right now.

Since I’m laid up for a bit I’m doing some research on vacations. Hubs and I are planning a HI trip 2021.
Thinking of just doing Kauai but maybe hitting another island. Do you have any recommendations of things to do places to see?
I think you said you used to live on the big island.
We’re looking for fitness things to do like hiking, kayaking etc.

I lived on Oahu. I don’t really recommend going there unless you want to see Pearl Harbor and other shit like that. Kauai is great, it’s very laid back and mellow. Maui is also great and so is Big Island. Plenty of hikes on all the islands, you just gotta look them up, I only know stuff on Oahu really. But I’ve been to almost all the islands. Kauai is probably my favorite though.

Kauai seems like the prettiest island. Although HI as a whole looks pretty majestic.

How hard is surfing? Is it practical to attempt trying it for the first time on vacation or no? Lol

Surfing is hands down the hardest sport you will ever attempt to learn. You can do one of those tourist surf lessons where they take you to a place that has just like 1 foot little waves that they push you in to on 10 foot boards and you attempt to standup and go straight for 5 seconds before falling haha. I definitely do not recommend going to rent a board and go to a regular spot and try and learn, you will get yourself or others hurt. If it’s something you really want to try, do the tourist lessons thing. It’s kooky but it’ll satisfy your urge and you’ll still have fun.

I’d probably skip it altogether and get some kayaks though, or go snorkel. You won’t find a better place in the US to do it.

Surfing looks deceivingly hard. Looks like it takes a lot of core strength. Plus I’m not a strong swimmer at all lol

We can stick to kayaking. Theres a place you can water tube which sounds right up my alley.

I’d like to do the Kalalau Trail and actually try to do it in a single day. Its only 11 miles. Its pretty radical but still doable.
