Homeless guy stole my keys...

I was at a club with some friends, walked out to my truck and realized my keys weren't in my pocket. I went back in, checked around the table, floor, etc.. No keys to be found. I walk outside and my truck alarm is going off. I didn't even know I had an alarm.... I see some homeless shaggy dude staring at it, think nothing of it and keep looking inside, trying to find them. I walk back out and the alarm is silent, so I spend the night guarding my truck, calling a lock smith to pop it open (I had spares inside of it). Turns out the homeless guy was waiting for me to leave it so he could take it, when I got into it and put on my gun (open carry state) he got in a car filled with people and sped off.

What was my friends response to all of this? "time to become a hobowars larper".

Friggin' homeless guy tried to steal my truck.

and I had no idea I had an alarm! My alarm button on the spares doesn't set it off, nor does kicking or jumping in my truck. how the?

 

Sounds like he hit the Panic button on the remote ?

 

There are clubs in Utah?

 

Well if you have a alarm. Leave the window down, lock it, wait one minuet and reach into the open window and unlock the truck. If it has a alarm it will go off.

The truck may only have the scare the perp away feature that works with the FOB. It just blasts the horn and is the extra button on the FOB.

 

That extra button on the FOB has never worked. The alarm, also, didn't go off when the lock smith reached in and un-locked it.

Odd..

 

He set the panic button off to see if u would come out .. If I wouldn't of he would have taken your truck

 

You have to hold the panic button on for a few seconds for it to work , did you try that ?

 

What might of happened is he though that extra button was the alarm and was using it to try to disable it.

OP , have you tried holding the panic button on your remote for a few seconds to see if it works ?

 

Yep, getting the horn to blow with the panic button leads him right up to the correct car/key match...

maybe he was "IN DISGUISE"

why the heck would you go back in the club anyway
