    Look at the photoshopped arrow on the right, the shoes frame can be seen. The very edge of the corner of the shoe has no support by the frame. No f_______ way that would create any kind of a problem.

    And once again you get what you pay for. Pretty simple actually.

    Lmao.

    There's absolutely nothing wrong with that design. If you think there is then you should provide some factual evidence as to why it's inferior, otherwise it's just opinion.

    Didn’t say anything was wrong with them, just said said you get what you pay for. Like paying for Tacoma and wanting the fit and finish of a Land Rover.

    I wasn't suggesting that the e-brake was causing the wear. Your shoes appear to be worn much more at the top than at the bottom. This is caused by improperly adjusted drum brakes. each time you cycle the emergency brake cables, on this type of drum brake, with worn brakes will cause the adjuster to advance one tooth, spreading the adjuster at the bottom of the shoes. This will cause the shoes to wear much more evenly, and increase the miles between shoe replacement. Once the brakes are properly adjusted, the e-brake cable won't cause any more lengthening of the adjuster.

    I highly doubt the shoes were designed like that. I'm pretty confident it was a quality slip at the factory. It's not so much the position of the brake lining as much as the negligence on Centric's part for not catching it in the first place. The lining is so far off that it makes me wonder if the lining is even properly bonded onto the shoe frame. Maybe the lining wasn't properly bonded to the shoe frame to cause it to move during manufacturing? Maybe the fixture that holds the shoe frame during manufacturing wasn't locked in place which allowed the lining to move? Maybe the Chinese kid fell asleep while clamping down the lining against the shoe frame while the "glue" was drying? Every answer to those questions leads me to believe the bond between the shoe lining and the frame may have been compromised which may have allowed the lining to shift. I mean I don't know, but I sure as hell wasn't gonna find out while towing a 5000 lb trailer down a hill.

    For the princely sum of $28.79, he could have gotten raybestos.

    I'm still trying to figure out why they were being replaced in the first place.

    It's even funnier that you seem to think quality parts don't come from China. LMAO! Bet you didn't know your Tacoma was made in Mexico.

    Real lesson learned: inspect the parts before installation. ;) This goes for both OE and aftermarket parts. This time it was a mfg defect. Next time it could be wrong part in the box, shenanigans by a previous customer, shipping damage, etc., etc.
    This. Best to return the part for replacement. I've used Centric shoes (exact same P/N as @Tah-koh-mah's) in my previous truck for 2 years with no complaints. Centric is StopTech and has access to OE design data. This was clearly a mfg defect.

    Price was not the sole determining factor for me to buy Centric. Many guys on here have used them and have great things to say about them. You seem to think because something is cheap or made in China means it must be bad quality. When you grow up you'll soon realize that is not the case.

    Never said all of it was bad, just know most of is of lesser quality. I deal with manufacturers on a daily basis so I see all the time. I just buy higher quality parts from the get go , not to say that they don’t at times have issues but I can assure it happens whole lot less.

    I said this for a while back when I had a first gen and no one took me seriously. Centrics are trash, my problem was a little different. The e-brake pin boss was pressed in bent on both sides, ( I found this out because my e-brake wouldn't retract quickly, the shoes grabbed and would never stay adjusted correctly. They were tight or loose.

    Soon as I put OEM Toyota on, no problems.

    Centric = Chinese junk

    Nothing but guesses with no factual basis and you decided to trash a company name on the internet with absolutely not one fact. Whatever, have a ball.

    Nope, no guesses at all, the pictures I took clearly show an obvious flaw in the brake shoe lining being shifted too far to one side. That's a fact. No denying it. Here's another fact , during the manufacturing process something went wrong that caused the lining to shift. That "something" that went wrong is what makes the shoe unsafe to use.

    Absolutely not true. Just because the lining isn't located in the stock position doesn't mean it's a shit part, it only means that it's different. You also have absolutely no evidence the lining shifted. You have no clue of what you're writing about other than you wanted a part that was exactly like stock but cheaper. You're guessing in other words.
