Did you by chance take measurements from center of hub to the bottom of the fender? It is a much better indicator of lift gained.

I have the complete opposite... I installed the 314 front springs with the 221 shocks and gained 2.75 upfront and the 110R rear leafs with 90lbs of constant load in the back, it is at 2.25 of lift in the rear after 1000 miles of driving. I was actually hoping my front would settle another .25 but hasn't so far.

Lucky you, that was the height I was after! The 302 springs with the 220 coils should be giving me the same numbers up front...

For the rear, I had a thought that maybe it was my MX4 tonneau pulling me down (even though the springs are recommended for 100lbs constant load), so I took it off and gained a whole 1/16th in...at least you can add some more accessories up front to bring it down, there's not much more I can do to bring it up short of adding spacers. :annoyed:

And yeah I took both measurements, they show the same results as my wheel/tire setup is still identical. Before install I had 21in hub to to fender up front, 23.5in after. And now after a week 22.5in...

    20200204_183134522_iOS.jpg

Here's some showing ground to fender driver's side...front is at 36.75in, rear at 37.75in:

    20200204_183339963_iOS.jpg

Just to double check my before numbers, I made a stop at the dealership last night and measured the 4 ORs they had on the lot (Yeah I was that guy crouching in the dark between tacomas with a measuring tape). All four were at 35.25in ground to fender up front, and 36.5in in the rear.

That feeling when you drop $1500 on a suspension but still blend in with the stock Tacomas...

Mine has leveled out to about the same as yours after about 6 months. I was hoping to stick around the 2.5" of lift mark. I am light too, no bumpers or sliders yet.

I wonder if there is a common denominator on the spring/ shock combo that is causing the excessive settling. Everyone should just post their spring/ shock combo so everyone can reference and how much settling they have.

I also run the Dobinson kit on my 2019 Landcruiser and have about 15k miles on that setup and it has not settled at all after the initial settling.

On your website it says the new ims shocks are long travel? Is that just the wording or are these gonna be to long for stock LCA’s?

Yeah, about 1" longer at full extension than the 221 version but they won't be making the shorter 221 version in IMS.

Stock LCA's will be fine but UCA'S would be better off with aftermarket so that they clear the coil springs at full extension. However many people are running the 220 version twin tubes with stock UCA's and no problem.

okay nice to know. I plan on doing the UCA’s I just wanted to make sure these weren’t like full blown long travel kit shocks

@Crikeymike I'm following up with MLO on the suspension sag as I bought through them, but in the meantime any thoughts on why this is happening? It definitely doesn't seem like I'm the only one...

Hard to say without coil inspection. Perhaps they weren't made right or labeled right. MLO can check with Dobinsons directly on what to do to check and get it sorted out.

So I finally got everything installed yesterday with the help of some friends. Unfortunately i didn't take any before measurements so i cant give an accurate increase in height though I will say it does sit noticeably higher. Ride is significantly better than the worn out factory suspension my 17 sr5 had. Only real complaint i have about the kit is the lack of instructions that came with the kit. I did end up with a few extra parts, some sort of washers and what appears to be metal spacers that came in a bag. Any way here is a before pic and ill post an after shot in the next post.

Would C59-314s be a good option get about 2.5" on a 4x4 v6 dble cab? I know it says 2.0" with medium amount of weight. What about no weight?

No, maybe 2.2" or so with no weight. Depends what struts you're going to run. 302s with 220 struts are to yield 2.5" or just a bit over

Ok but sounds like a good setup if you want to keep factory UCAs? I already have 5100s with factory springs. Just want to get a little better setup.

Ok. With 5100s you could run the coils 1 clip up to get that extra height. Factory UCA's get pretty maxed over 2.5" lift though

Ok good to know, thanks! Yeah 2.5 is my limit. Don't want to go any higher than that.
