I think what is worse is that the group already went over this exact subject with him.

You can lead a horse to water.

I may or may not have ever been on "closed" roads. Let's just say I have been. The last thing I would do is post about it here. lol

Posting about going 100 yards down a closed road then chickening out is not an adventure. It's ammo for the enviro movement. Delete the post.

I don't give a shit if your 16 or 65. I don't care how you sleep. What I do care about is not giving the enviro movement ammo to help them close more trails. That's exactly what you are doing with that post. Take some time and think about it. You might get the point if you do.

I take the Tread Lightly ethos’s pretty damn seriously and I have zero tolerance for those who knowingly decide to break the rules and access areas that are closed.

You’re welcome to be a member of the forum and abide by the rules we have in place which also include not doing illegal shit.

Or, you can choose to continue and I’ll gladly show you the way out and you can go find another forum where your antics are tolerated. However, don’t go bitching when shit gets closed down because of what you’re a part of.

    This is your one chance.

I can still go and read all the content you made and deleted, as well as any changes to posts.

Perhaps TW just isn’t the place for you.

You clearly admitted to going past the road closed sign. That’s breaking the law. So, yes, you did something wrong.

    Bye.

Your argument does not apply to the parameters here.

you have now gained troll status. I’m sure your stay will be short. Enjoy it while you can. TW does not tolerate your kind.

Dude are you even here? Go find some other forum. You clearly don't like members of this geographical area and keep getting in to arguments.

You'd probably be best off if you read more and posted less.

    • What you did (and have done) is admit to driving down a closed road one thousand feet to to discover the road was too icy and turned around. Ancillary to that, your wife, dog, and a lack of second vehicle helped drive the decision to turn around.
    • When you posted that, you violated the ethos of TW by admitting that you did that.

You tried to write that off by comparing it to flipping a U-turn in a neighborhood. And technically, you're correct however, there's a HUGE difference between three or four feet and over a thousand. And there's also a huge difference between a closed road and an open road.

I don't know. Each time you try to explain yourself, you dig a deeper hole. Frankly, I'm over it and if I could, I would ask that you would consider hanging out and learning what's cool and not, acquaint yourself with the whole Tread Lightly thing and learn what is and isn't acceptable-read more; post less and most of all, don't be the reason trails are closed.

Thanks for the kind and thoughtful response unlike others. Told the moderator guy I’m done with this thread so there’s that.

As for what I’ve said or done. I know what I’ve done. Nothing I’ve done or said has been malicious or done to hurt, destroy the environment. Y’all enjoy the outdoors and I’ll do the same!

    You're welcome.

One thing. You don't think you've done wrong but your words say otherwise. And while nothing may have been destroyed or hurt and you weren't trying to be malicious, it's still wrong. Be humble, accept what people are telling you and move on with the new information and be thankful you're not regaling us with your $5000 fine and potential jail time.

And yes, people are angry because even though you don't see anything wrong, when you travel in closed areas, you contribute to the reasons roads are closed in the first place. Four wheel drive doesn't entitle anyone to go where they want because they can.
