I have the OME 883’s in the front with Bilstein 5100 and Dakars in the rear. I am currently sitting an inch higher in the rear. I was going to remove one of the overloads in the pack. Do you know roughly how much lift I will lose removing the top overload?

Are they the HD pack? If so you can remove one of the springs and turn it into the standard pack. Other than that I wouldn't mess with removing individual leafs from that pack.

Have you given the leaf springs time to settle? Generally they go down a bit after a few weeks of driving around...when they're brand new they tend to sit higher at first

Personally I think 1" higher in the rear is perfect... allows you to carry weight in the bed without having it sag lower than the front.

Yes it’s the HD pack. I received roughly 3.25 inches of lift

1st gens only have a standard duty Dakar pack available, with AALs as an option. No medium or heavy duty options unfortunately

Yes they are roughly a year old with 20k miles. I have a topper one as well and still measure right at an inch higher

You could remove the overload but I'm not sure how much that will lower it...might be more than an inch, and you'll lose weight carrying capacity with it out

I was wondering how much it would come down. I don’t carry a whole lot of weight in the bed but would hate to be sitting higher in the front

Yeah no one wants the Bro Squat look lol. I've never tried taking the overload out so I can't say for sure, someone else probably has and will chime in though

Maybe once I get an aftermarket rear bumper it would bring it down

Per ARB you can remove the leaf pointed by the yellow line -

You don't really feel the overload leaf until you start putting weight on it; removing the one pointed out above will actually soften the ride as well.

ARB doesn’t recommend removing the one by pink line then?

Not that they don't; they just don't have any positive effect.

Do you know if a plate rear bumper would bring it down some

How badly raked is your truck?

When I only had the bumper on, I had nearly as much rake as I do now with multiple more items -

This is without my topper. I don’t have a good side shot of my truck

    Well a topper wouldn't make a difference.

Based on that picture, I have no idea what you're trying to do differently?

You want some rake, that way the truck levels out when you put a real load in the bed.

Yes I want to level it out more so that I have the same height front and rear
