And they still want that shit to be 100% perfect. Like bruh I can’t even angle the rod/gun/torch in that spot to do the weld the right way.

I fixed 22 leaks on a dimple jacket on a tank Tuesday, they had ATS come out and PT the repairs. That’s how anal they are. LOL

Like when they cut the steam back on and the repairs aren’t Leaking.....we’ll still PT them just to make sure they aren’t leaking.

    Wrecked!
I broke it up into 2 days only because no garage so working outside winter days are short and didn't start until noon. Requires a lot of time for sure. Definitely not for the non DIY guy, cost for labor would kill you.

Anyone have a recommendation on a decent tube notcher? Seems like some say the HF isn't bad, but I don't mind spending a little more for something of decent quality. It seems like most people say the cheaper models don't notch on center and need to be shimmed, would like to avoid that. What say you?

My JD2 Notch Master has been doing fine. It's notched a lot if material so far and still works the way it did brand new. It is adjustable so you need to set it center of your material to be notched. Will notch up to about 50 degrees or so. I use Lenox bi-metal hole saw bits for it and they last a really long time.

I have the cheapo freight, I had to tweak it a bit to make center notches, nothing mayor just added a couple of spacers to lever it. Other than that in think the trick is using decent hole saws.

I use the jd notch master with the swag off-road upgrades. Bought it from a member on here. It looks pretty much identical to the Eastwood. I owned a few harbor freight notchers previously. With shimming they will get the job done.

I’m about to have a baby (wife was due this past Saturday!), so most truck and metal projects are on hold for a while.

Tried the .030 flux core wire on my sheet metal for my firewall tub, working pretty good. Far less blow through and easier to get some good tacks on there.
