Well yeah thats the best they get though, the rest is private land. At least here (and most of the western US) we have federal BLM lands to wheel on too

Ya the upside would be if you had a ton of private property to wheel on to yourself and friends

You will not find much of any public land east of Oklahoma imo.

You guys still able to drive on the beach in South Texas? I remember as a kid when we'd go to Corpus Christi my dad would drive our Aerostar van all along the beach lol. We only have one beach in CA you can do that in and I think they shut it down

Yeah I think it's temporarily closed now but will probably become permanent. Main reason is the residents of the local town are tired of it and I can't say I blame them with the amount of traffic that place gets on weekends and summer especially (also the type of wheeling crowd it generally draws in).
That and in the last couple of years theres been a number of deaths from accidents. That always shines a bad light on an OHV area

To the people living there, Id say tough luck. The OHV area was there long before you. Its like when people build a home downrange from a gun club, then demand it be shut down.

The deaths are unfortunate, but its a thing to be considered with any motorsport.

    That is depressing

Yes out here we have public use land and a ton of it, also BLM federal land which you can do pretty much anything on. Well...kind of

I think the town was there first lol. Before Pismo was opened up to OHV use I mean.

It is a huge part of their towns revenue stream so that will hurt them I'm sure

There's also environmental concerns cited for the closure, the sand dunes disappearing faster than normal from all the traffic and what not

I'm impartial about it to be honest, was fun to go there a few times but sand wheeling isn't my thing. And on weekends Pismo is basically a huge frat party on the beach with ATVs and dirt bikes everywhere

What sucks is a lot of spots are being taken up and drawing attention with all the stupidity that goes on out there.

I haven't been on a night shoot for a few years now, and my night vision just collects dust.

Then you've got places up north like Clear Lake that also draw a stupid crowd which is why I haven't shot long range either.

When I used to attend range cleanups with the forum, it'd blow your mind to see the dump people create.
