Nice thread here, thanks for links at the beginning! If someone with a third gen taco and a fleet fwc mounted has a chance and could measure height from the garage floor to the highest point on the camper I would appreciate it. Want to fit in garage and need to see if I can get away without having to raise the header. Thanks.

Last weekend finished the install of a Hellwig rear anti-sway bar. Took about three hours to figure it out/ install as the installation guide is not super clear. But the results are great. I now have little to no sway on corners. I’d highly recommend doing this if you’re carrying a bunch of weight. Cost was about $500 for both front and rear. Almost thinking that I don’t need the Hellwig front bar. But will mount it this coming weekend. Before there was a bit of side-to-side motion and now it’s eerily flat around corners.

first part of the rear install:

And now rear sway bar fully installed!

    Notice the Deaver leaf springs

How does the truck handle the weight with the airbags only?
I have 2018 double cab long bed 4x4 TRD, and am looking at adding some kind of camper, probably a FWC. I am hoping to keep the suspension as stock as possible. Do you think the airbags by themselves are enough?

Airbags or not, with a shell model popup you will need suspension upgrades.
I had a Finch, no airbags but suspension upgrades. You have to consider the camping gear going on the trips with you. It adds up quickly.

If you’re talking about my truck, we don’t use airbags, that’s what the custom leaf springs are for. We’re not planning on taking the camper off for years. In my opinion air bags are best used for alleviating temporary weight, a week, a month, etc. You will definitely need to put on at least a add-a-leaf if not a heavier duty front and rear springs and air bags.

Is there a way to convert my inside lifting shocks to the outside? Or how hard is it to lift the top without the shocks attached?

I know for newer models you can add external shocks after, you might want to get in touch with FWC to see if it's possible with the eagle.

Lots of people make do without them, depending on what you have on your roof (not a lot of heavy solar etc).

is the Finch a new model or older discontinued? I’ve been looking into these and haven’t come across this model?

Sadly the Finch is no longer made. It was a great size but still heavy for Tacomas. I say call FWC and ask. The more calls they get regarding the smaller versions of their campers maybe they will make them again.

I don't like the new wider campers. All terrain campers is also an option.

Think i will take them off this evening and just roll without them. I feel like i can manage lifting the top just fine. Just dont want to stress the panels.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I was on the Four Wheel Camper FB page the other day. There's a couple for sale there.
