We have a dude up the road from me that's been working on a flying car for a while. I like the pitch of escaping traffic. It sounds good until the sky is filled with idiot car flyers.

    > Specifications

Switchblade Flying Sports Car Price: $120,000 (est.)

The Switchblade is a three wheel, street legal vehicle that you drive from your garage to a nearby local airport. Once there, the wings swing out and the tail extends in under 3 minutes. You then fly your registered aircraft directly to the destination – at up to 200 mph and 13,000 feet. You simply land, transform your flying sports car back to driving mode – the wings safely stowed and protected – and continue to your final destination.

    DIMENSIONS
Estimated GTOW 1,750 LB (Gross Take-off Weight)
    Length 16.8 ft / 5.1 m (ground mode)
    Length 20.2 ft / 6.2 m (flight mode)
    Vehicle Width 6 ft / 1.8 m
    Height 5.1 ft / 1.5 m
    Wing span 26.9 ft / 8.2 m
    Wing loading 26 psf / 127 kg/m2
    Fuel capacity 30 gal. including reserve / 114 L

The Italian-inspired clean shape is designed to produce a down-force in gusty wind conditions, stabilizing the lightweight vehicle on the road. The wings are set at the correct angle so you literally fly the plane off the runway! Landings are similar, in that you simply fly the vehicle onto the runway to land.

IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN
    • High performance on the road and in the sky
    • Fast, sleek and fun to operate
    • Safety features like no other Multi-Mode Vehicle
    • Designed to be truly practical, for everyday use

    • Escape highway traffic
    • Be in total control of your travel schedule
    • Get there safely, regardless of the weather
    • Say goodbye to travel hassles and delays

Most drivers have enough trouble dealing with two dimensions within a constrained environment. Have them try to manage three dimensions? *shudder*

TSA Agent Allegedly Tricked Traveler Into Exposing Her Breasts

A federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent was arrested this week after he allegedly tricked a traveler into twice showing him her breasts as she went through security at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Johnathon Lomeli, 22, was working as a TSA agent at LAX in June 2019 when he allegedly used "used fraud or deceit to falsely imprison a woman going through security," a statement from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said.

Lomeli allegedly told the woman that he had to look inside her bra to make sure she wasn't hiding anything, then, had the traveler hold her pants away from her waist so he could look inside, an arrest affidavit said. Lomeli then took the traveler to what he said was a private screening area, but once they were alone in an elevator, the victim told police that Lomeli offered to conduct the screening right there.

The crime allegedly occurred outside of the primary security screening area, according to the Attorney General's Office.

The woman says Lomeli told her he had to make sure she still had nothing in her bra, asking her to lift her shirt "to show me your full breasts." He also looked down her pants before telling the victim that she was free to go, adding that she had nice breasts.

“Women deserve to be treated with dignity and respect everywhere,” Becerra said in the statement. “There is no excuse for this kind of alleged behavior. It's not okay on the street, it's not okay in our schools, and it's certainly not welcome at the airport. At the California Department of Justice, we'll continue to do everything in our power to hold those who break the law accountable.”

The TSA reported the incident to the FBI, and Lomeli was let go from his job at the airport months ago, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

Lomeli was arrested at his home early Thursday and is currently being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

    WTF??

‘Finger gun’ by girl with Down syndrome, 6, triggers Pa. school to call cops, mom says

A Pennsylvania elementary school called the police on a six-year-old girl with Down syndrome after she pretended to shoot her teacher with her fingers.

The girl’s mother, Maggie Gaines, has accused Tredyffrin-Easttown School District of mishandling the incident last November, saying her daughter, Margot, unknowingly made a gesture which caused a disciplinary investigation, according to CBS3 .

Gaines said her daughter now has a police report on record.

“My daughter got frustrated and pointed her finger at her teacher and said, ‘I shoot you,'” Gaines told the outlet this week.

“At that point, they went to the principal’s office and it was quickly assessed that she didn’t even really know what she was saying.”

It was concluded there was no harm done, and the threat was considered transient, as the statement was made in frustration. The school district, however, said it was policy for them to report it to the authorities.

“I was fine with everything up until calling the police,” Gaines said. “And I said, ‘You absolutely do not have to call the police. You know, this is ridiculous.'”

Gaines maintained her daughter didn’t comprehend what she had done, much less the questioning by the school officials.

“They were asking her questions, and she was saying, ‘Oh, I shoot mommy,’ laughs, or, ‘I shoot my brother.’ The principal asked, ‘Did you mean to hurt your teacher?’ And she said no and it seemed like she didn’t even know what that meant,” Gaines explained.

“She really didn’t understand what she was saying, and having Down syndrome is one aspect,” she continued, “but I’m sure all 6-year-olds don’t really know what that means.”

“The whole thing is overkill for an instance like this,” she said. “Children don’t have the same understanding as adults, these are children not adults, with not the same life experience.”

“Now, there is a record at the police department that says she made a threat to her teacher.”

The family is appealing the school board to change the policy.

There are 2 sides to every story. I only see one side here. I have known many people who taught emotionally/developmentally challenged kids. It is a stressful, dangerous job. I wouldn't do it for what they get paid.....

At least 2 sides. Usually three sides. :D

.. but yeah. A relative of mine taught Special-Ed kids. Sweetest woman you could know, and she absolutely loved her work and teaching "her" kids.

Then ran afoul of a made up story and a set of parents with connections. In the ensuing they-said-she-said it was she who got the shaft.

I agree, however to involve police for a 6 year old seems a tad much.
