    Thanks, but I'm mostly using brand new Winchester brass (although some of it has been loaded a few times be me) and the 100 rounds of Federal American Eagle I fired off this weekend say on the box it's reloadable. The main thing I need to wrap my head around is crimping the case mouth. Never had to do that before. I'm thinking I still might not have to if the bullet lack a cantilure (sp?)

    Got one already, haha. It's just polite to other shooters, as well as helpful in keeping your brass. Maybe not the best but it worked pretty good. I found if I left the zipper open it made a nice neat pile of brass on the bench I was shooting off of that was easy to deposit in my bag.

    Its a debatable topic "crimp or not to crimp". I am not crimping my 147 fmj cantilure but then again its just a plinking round still shooting a .5 moa at 25 yards and thats with a 30 round mag.

    Considering how hard I had to hit with my bullet pulling hammer when I had to pull a bullet, I don't think crimping is really necessary myself. I mean we're (most of us) are not firing full auto or anything.

    Any of you guys of you guys loading .223 interested in a few random bullets to experiment with, I have a few partial boxes I'm looking to unload free. I also have about 400 53 gr SMKs (4 unopened boxes) I'd be willing to part with cheap...say 25% of the cheapest you can find them on the interwebs.

    Cleaning off 10-15 years of detritus and dust off my reloading bench sucks, but it's amazing what you find.

    edit: found a whole unopened box of Federal Gold Cup 69 gr SMK factory loads. If I would have know I had them I would have shot them yesterday, haha.

    I have plenty of them, to be honest...a whole other partial 500 bullet box. I'm looking to shoot heavier bullets with a better CD out of the AR since I have the twist now to do it. Why Remington opted to use a 1 in 10 twist in a varmint/target rifle is beyond me.

    I crimp everything that goes in a semi auto. It's good insurance. Measure OAL of a loaded round before and after full force clambering.... make sure you don't have any setback. Contenders and bolt guns- not necessary.

    I have Lee FC dies for all my semi auto rounds. Don't use a seat/roll crimp die unless you're a master reloader, or you seat and crimp separately. Smashed shoulders will ensue if you don't trim all of your brass to EXACTLY the same length.

    I've been at WCToyota for 10yrs and I don't think we've ever done a Tacoma Frame. You definitely have to take it in for them to get it approved. It has nothing to do w/ the dealer, it has to meet certain guidelines w/ the recall from Toyota and then Toyota will either approve it or not. Like I said, I've never seen one done here, so I'm not experienced enough to answer the questions about the CMC or Relocate.

    Well, I just went nuts buying reloading shit. I remembered the aggravation I always felt with the RCBS 1 fits all powder funnel...so I got two funnels, one for .223 and the other for 6.5mm. Then I bought a super cheep Lee press so I could use it for my comparator dies...just slip the round in and pull the handle down and the dial indicator on top tells you your COAL or your length to the ogive, however you have it set up. Lots faster than using a set of calipers. Then I had to buy the .223 Rem comparator die. These dies are high end Redding, so they ain't cheap. Then I had to buy two more shell holders for .223 Rem and .308 Win for the second press. And while I was at it I bought a couple more loading trays and 4 more 100 rnd .223 ammo boxes. Only reason I didn't get a couple 100 more pieces of Federal brass is it was on back order.

    That's it! Going to the rifle range Sunday woke up my dormant love of shooting and now I'm out of control. I'm...I'm...like a new Tacoma Owner now. :anonymous:

    Just think if I ever get the 6.5mm Grendel I want. (edit: or have my 6.5 BR rechambered to 6.5 Creedmoor.) Then I'm going to have to spend a fortune in new dies (Redding Competition, of course), comparator, shell holders for a .220 Russian base, and all that crap .

    I have a shit load of H335 as well, but when it gets low, I think I'm going to try X Terminator. I would try Varget, but I hate extruded powder, even though I'm using N133 and N135 for my 6.5 BR loads. It doesn't meter well for shit. I like ball or flake a lot better.

    Well, @Rob MacRuger and I had us a big ol' time at SW today. Thanks for getting me in half price. I'm still going to have to go back and get that damn shooters card...and probably pay for it again. :frusty:

    On the other hand, I was extremely pleased with my super cheap Panzer Arms AR-12. It only had one feed jamb and that was the second shot (ever), but performed flawlessly the rest of the session. It wasn't a stove pipe so I think I had the bolt carrier group so well lubed that the bolt cycled faster than the mag spring could push the shell up.

    At any rate, the last five shots of the day @ 35.3 yrds yielded this one hole group...

    I'm thus far officially impressed with this $400 shotgun. This was only the first 25 rnds though so time will tell.

    So, come back to the states and my truck battery is dead. And of course left my key in the truck and only had my fob. Yay for pop and lock service. But onto better news, painting my bumpers this week after o clean my garage out some.
