So today I was out cleaning the driveway, got home late last night from a weekend trip. Saw some bright yellow fluid under my truck, aw fuck.

Drip coming from the exhaust here:IMG_20200210_121533.jpg

Checked all the fluids, everything is good, doesn't look like any of them either.

My first thought was to immediately post here asking what it is, but my judgement got the better of me and I googled it first.

Looks like it's a chemical reaction between hot exhaust parts, catalyzed by road salt and snow. Seeing as my truck looked like this Friday night:

Followed by driving a couple hundred miles on salted roads last night, I'm pretty confident in this explanation.

TL;DR: it's not piss, but still don't eat it. Also nothing to worry about your truck is fine.

I won't lie, I ALMOST tasted it. It didn't have a smell so I was pretty curious. My health insurance is terrible tho so I erred on the side of caution.

Tootsie Rolls in the swimming pool are questionable too.

Thanks for this. Last winter I noticed this and was like WTF. Like stated in the link, none of our vehicles fluids were this color.

I just said the hell with trying to figure it out cause all fluids remained good in our vehicles.

    Now I know!

I have decent health insurance so I basically sample whatever I find on the ground.

You and my shepherd have a lot in common, except she doesn't have any insurance unless you count my wallet.
