Hi Bill,
Quick question about painting in general.
My truck is 12 years old and the Toyota silver is faded. Color matched paint from cans no longer looks like the same shade.
How difficult is it for shops to mix a paint that looks similar to the existing paint? Is it something all body shops have the ability to do?

 

You can't really match faded paint. The best thing to do is match as close as possible and buff the faded area to make it match better

 

your truck would not be a good candidate to take to Sleepy Creek. Its also in Inwood, WV. last time i went i got 2 huge dents in my door (before i got sliders) but i had a 3 inch lift and 33s

 

What if you just wrapped your truck? Similar cost to a good paint job

 

I DO know a local wrap guy

 

or a patina paint job

 

I might try my hand at a little paint correction to see how it comes out.

I wonder if any of the ole timers knew my father n law...Dutch. I still have family up there off 522, so I'm up there all the time.

 

I'm 59 and have lived in Front Royal since 1985, so maybe that qualifies me as an "old timer". My wife has lived in Front Royal almost all of her life.

Bill, My father n law was Dutch Zinnecker. Over the hill past the zoological, past Rappahannock winery, off little long mountain! The one store I'll go visit downtown is that little place called "stokes" I think. still has that family store feel and I like their stuff!
You might have met his wife Mary at griffin tavern.

 

Probably have met Mary at Griffin tavern. We go there every once in a while. Stokes is a great store too. Never knew anyone from 522 past the winery though.

Stokes is a unique experience. They are prob hurting from Rural King and could use all the business that they can get.

 

Went for a ride in the mountains today from Woodstock up rt. 758 to Woodstock tower, then down Mine Mountain road into Fort Valley. Met a nice guy from Alexandria in a built Jeep up there. He had the FSR rtt that I've been considering getting for a while now. He was just out driving around too.
