    "Little bro" here-

Codes are P1442 AND P1445; CEL is on, along with VSC Trac, + a couple of others

Shop near me quoted $2,800 out of the door with a three-year warranty, Toyota quoted a bit less.

Looking at the Hewitt-Tech Plug & Play bypass, but wondering if I'll still pass inspection with that. Any insight?

post 2001 vehicles in NC can have 1 Not Ready System (SAI) and still pass. So Hewitt may only help you out of limp mode and you could still pass inspections. It may trigger a complete drive system check and give you ready as well.

Luckily, it hasn't sent me into Limp Mode yet. Hopefully caught it in time to fix before that happens. It is my daily though, so fingers crossed.

If that's the case, is it worth taking the hit and doing the full repair?

Not 100% sure on the 4Runner but for the 1GR-FE and as with most it does nothing for the engine or efficiency. It just recycles vapors at the beginning of startup and engine shutdown. I personally don’t think it is worth it and I would give Hewitt Tech a call. Good dude and solid product. He can answer all your questions.

Secondary air does not recycle vapors it pumps fresh air into the exhaust to continue the burn post combustion chamber to burn more HC. When Toyota has that programed idk.

EGR and EVAP systems recycle vapors.

yup, I had it backwards. It is set to function on Tacomas at startup only until 2013 then they changed to start up and shut down.

Going to order a SOS rear bumper. Not sure the lead time but is the TW Express still running?

Also @Sandman614 I’ll need your install help as usual. Maybe we can do @tacopaulo ’s light bar too

Too early. Don’t think it will be ready until May lol. I’ll figure something out closer to that time but thanks! :hattip:

For him to me it doesn't really make sense to hack the bedsides. But he gave me a good idea for something.
