I have toyos which are 33.4ish and pull a 17’ travel trailer and and I find 3 or 400 more rpm would be about ideal. She runs out of steam a little on hills and has to unlock in 4th gear to maintain speed, heating up the tranny quickly.

Not quite worth the money for a regear but a jump to 35’s or 37’s new gears would be vital imho. As it is I usually drive around in 4th unless I’m really moving on a big freeway.

Sounds like the only downside is that your speedo, mpg reading, and miles till empty will off

I'd rather try the OV Tune before I did a regear. I thinks it's cheaper and might be a better first choice option. I wouldn't consider it a waste of money on the 3rd Gen.

Best part of today..............I found an authorized Discount Tire Direct installer 15 minutes from me. It's a father and son business. The father will be 74 on Sunday. He's been working on cars since he was a teenager. Come to find out, I work with a guy that's known him for over 40 years! He quoted me $1,160.00 OTROTD including certificates, and lifetime flat repair and rotation for 4 S/T Maxx in the 285/85r16 flavor. Time to jump off this fence boys and girls.

    Do it!

Although I wouldn’t consider those skinnies

Edit: Did you mean 255/85/16 because the size you quoted would be wide low-profile tires.

Damn Chris! I know you've changed quite a bit since this pic, but your truck always looks so good!

Thanks Brian it’s fun to mess with. I thought of you yesterday we went down a back road and got stopped at a creek crossing. With all the rain it had swelled to about 3’ deep I backed out. Hope all is well with the baby

Not exactly the best shot to emphasize the tires width, but I've been running 255/80/17s the last 2 years and 255/70/17 before that. Needless to say I love the skinnies and they perform great around my area with a mix of dirt, paved, and highway every day.

Yes all is going good! Just a little sleep deprived.
Both sides of our road flooded the other day, so on the best option to get out the water was up to the bottom of the door.
    Where were you?

We were down outside Charottesville. I eased down into it but it dropped off pretty quick and i was at the bottom of the doors before i even got into it good. Middle of nowhere, alone, no cell service I figured better safe than sorry

@wileydavis You have any more pics of those 34" KO2s? Thinking about going to this size with SEMA wheels. How much caster are you running? How close do they sit to the cab mount at full lock when the suspension isn't compressed?

Not many choices that I'm seeing, but Falkan WP look to be the best bang for the buck.

A lot of people like the Falken WPs. That being said, I've been very pleased with my Cooper ST Maxxs.
