3rd gen trd tacoma front suspension. On a 2016 runner..

Will this work? Any lift. My wife has a 2016 2wd 4runner with old suspension, I am about to change out my suspension on 2018 tacoma, can I just move the 18 Tacoma suspension to the runner? Are there any gains in height?

It's the oe tacoma bilstien 5400 suspension. From what I have read the rear shocks dont work very well. So I am just focusing on the front. Thanks for the reply!

 

Spring rates are different 4R to 2nd gen tacoma but parts still fit technically.
Since 3rd gen taco parts fit 2nd gen, should also fit 4R.
I would expect it to lift the 4R a little and maybe be a bit stiffer.
Try it and tell us how it goes. Assuming you can do the work yourself, you're only out a little time if you don't like it and can undo it.

 

Direct swap on the front. Slightly different spring rate for the front spring but negligible. I'm running 2019 Tacoma front springs and Bilstien shocks on my 2003 4runner. You probably won't get more than 1" lift if you get any at all.

Rear shock lower mount will be different if it's like my 4runner. The lower shock mount requires a new bushing because the mount shaft on the 4runner is larger than the Tacoma. These are the bushings that I used to mount the Tacoma rear shocks onto my 4runner. These are the lower mount only, the top mount is the same.

Thank you all for the replies. I have heard the rear shocks are too weak for the runner, so I am going to pick up some 5100's for the rear. I am going to tackle this over spring break.

 

I would agree with this since I have Tacoma rear shocks and am considering changing them out now because they do feel a little soft for the 4runner. The fronts are great tho.
