9A71DCB6-FDE7-47DC-8BD3-908997E7B232.jpg New to this forum thing but I would like to see if anybody can help me out. My temperature display in my 2011 TRD always reads 3 dashes. I pulled the dash apart to replace the evaporater a little bit over a year ago and after reassembling, the temp display was the only thing not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Means it's too hot :bananadead: nah just kidding

Could have pinched/unplugged the temp wires, the sensor is on the center support in front of the radiator.

--- is usually a sign of an out of range signal from a temperature sensor. Considering that you had everything apart you probably missed a connection somewhere between the display and the actual sensor.

This may help you figure out the locations of the plugs.

i know there is a thread where the 510 resistor becomes un soldered from the ciruit board you might want to check that

Any resolution to this? I just replace the temp/compass display with a new unit and I am getting this as well. Compass works but I get ‘- - -‘ or absolute crazy readings that jump (-14F, 100F, 34F) etc.

Not to bump an old thread but anyone figure out what’s up. I’m thinking my sensor took a shit since I get - - - or something completely out of whack -22 up to 90.

It could be anything from the sensor to the actual display unit. As stated earlier --- just means the resistance is out of range. And since you said that it varies wildly I would first check the wires between the sensor and the display unit. Then the Sensor and then the display itself. Also was brought up earlier about the resistor on the main board coming loose. Do a search for that and it could be as simple as re-flowing the solder on the resistor.

Yeah I’ve checked the overhead unit and it’s connections. Hopefully it’s just some corroded pins in a connector somewhere.

I've had mine rebuilt. It's funny, you never use it... But when it's not working, it's the end of the world

Therein lies the problem. Your Taco is a ‘09 and you bought one from a ‘08.

‘08 and older is different than ‘09 and newer.

It would appear that from all of his research the pre 09 models cannot be installed on an 09 but in my line of work everything’s Murphy resistant not proof. Lol. If I get a break at work tonight I’ll get to the bottom of my issue. Hopefully all data will have the wire diagrams I wanna see
