i am on my 2nd aftermarket radio head unit, i do not ever recall trying to set the clock on either of those, was probably TOO complicated to figure it out
so i rely on the taco clock and sometimes storefronts passing by with digital signs that show time/temp
the taco clock is easily seen with steering wheel tilted at normal angle and no leaning to the side while behind the wheel

this may not be entirely accurate for the OPs current setup :notsure:
perhaps if one is above average height it could be an issue but idk

Don't put a clock there. That and first gen Tacoma ball joints are the worst thing to come from Toyota in their entire existence.

Put a switch for some aux lights or something there. If you have an aftermarket stereo, there's your clock that you can actually see.

Not from where I'm sitting. Your issue is regional. The ball joints affect EVERY vehicle.

If you pull that panel off the wiring harness for the clock is actually there. There’s even a blank spot in the trim for the harness to “plug” into.

I just realized, you own not 1 but 2 Tacomas.

    Both came without a clock?

It's probably there, hidden behind the steering wheel this whole time :)

It’s a better place for a light bar switch than a clock as the steering wheel blocks it, and as a matter of fact probably what I’ll do eventually.

Can't go wrong with having another clock my friend.

I have the one on my wrist, in my pocket, the one you are missing, and the one from the aftermarket radio. Looking to invest in a specialized bed rack so I can permanently install a grandfather clock back there. I'm going to have it face the front of the truck at an angle, so I can check the time whenever I look in the rear-view mirror.

Am I the only one on here who doesn't have a problem with the clock location? I can see it perfectly fine through my steering wheel (pre 2001 steering wheel is easier to see through) and use it all the time.

Mine had a blank just like OP's, I cut it out with a Dremel, bought a cheap clock from a member, plugged it in, works great!

I put a winch switch from 12V Guy into that spot and took the clock out. Agreed that it's a useless location.

I moved the clock when I installed an OEM FJ60 inclinometer, which has its' own clock. Similarly, can also just use an aftermarket head unit for timekeeping purposes, as they all have clocks in my experience.

No, there are a few of you weirdos out there. :D

As long as you're going straight, it's fine, but if you have the wheel turned just right, it'll still get blocked.
