I have zero truck updates since I haven’t had my truck for over two weeks. It’s up at the mobtown shop, but should be getting it back this week sometime.

Yeah, I thought this was @Justanotherhemi 's Van build thread? Suddenly there's trucks involved? Not what I signed up for. /unsubscribe

To re align the intermediate shaft did you only have to remove the bolt on the lower spline clamp? I'm wondering if there's enough room to lift it off and realign it without undoing the upper clamp with the 2 bolts up top as well?

Correct, I only had to undo the single bolt that connects the steering shaft to the rack. The steering shaft slides in and out, allowing that.

Do you have any tricks to get that spline pushed off? I really struggled to get it off initially. I had to take the bolt completely out, soak it in penetrating fluid, and smack it with a long punch and hammer before it budged.. added about 25 minutes to the rack bushing install.:annoyed: not super easy in such a tight spot haha
Hoping it'll separate easier this time around since it's already been apart. :fingerscrossed:

Once you get the bolt out, hammer a wedge into this gap. I used a large flat head screw driver. This widened it up enough and came off very easily. It’ll close back up once you tighten the bolt when reinstalling it later on.

Thank you Josh! I have so many questions too.

Like - will 2nd gen tpms work in a 3rd gen
Like - will the 255/85r16 Maxx tires require new UCAs
Like - How in the world do you get all the nutrients and vitamins required drinking Truely?

I have 255/80r17's and at full lock my tires still touch my ucas.
You could get away with it if you had a larger offset wheel or wheel spacers.

Why bother. Pull them out & eyeball your tires every morning

    Yes with enough persuasion

Yes but you need more than 1. Maybe 6.

    Your welcome.

When will you trade in the Smurfmobile for a Colorado? I still have the black with grey interior you special ordered ready for you.
