I'm getting a new Leer shell with the Thule tracks put in. I'm debating between a Thule basket and a Yakima (Thule MOAB, Yakima Load Warrior, or Yakima Mega Warrior?). What are your suggestions. Pics if you have them would be nice too. If you have something different, I'd like to see those as well.

    Thanks

I don't use a basket, but I do use a cargo box for hunting & camping.

Are those the Aero bars? Do you like them? I've heard some complain that they're noisy.

I've thought about those as well. How heavy is it? Is it a pain to get on top of the roof?

I have a sunroof, so I'm probably the wrong one to ask. I've had this setup from the start.
I notice a little whistle, but I think it's from the sunroof. I use it mostly for ladders & lumber and I like them. I think they look better than some others also.

I have the Thule Atlantis 1600 (16 cubic feet), which weighs 42 pounds. Installation is very easy - you just push it up there and then tighten down the four clamps, which slide front and back to accommodate any bar spacing. I can do it by myself but it is a little award, not because of the weight, but because of the size. I find that if you open the lid it is easier to handle. If you have two people it would be a walk in the park.

Accessing your gear is very easy as well - just stand on the rear tire and it is the perfect height. The box opens form either side with the turn of a single latch and it has tie-downs inside to keep stuff from rolling around.

I also thought about a basket but ended up with the box because it keeps stuff dry and low hanging branches don't get hung up on it.

Those camper Tacomas are awesome, I am going in that direction as well. I need the extra dry space when camping. The rack is great for the canoe too. JOE>

I've got a FrontRunner Wind Cheetah rack on my Snugtop. There are tracks on it that you can bolt accessories to it (bike racks, fuel cans, water cans, shovels, axe, highlifts, canoes, kayaks, you name it). Here's some pics:

Pricey!!! I like the modular approach though. What size is the one on your truck? How does it mount to the roof? Do you know if it can be mounted to the Thule tracks or does it require it's own mount system?

Yea, they do cost a little cash but you get what you pay for and it is about 20 racks in 1 and low profile. Mine is a 48"x60" and uses heavy aluminum tracks that come with it. I think yak or Thule equipment can be used with the tracks tho. My size rack is perfect for the regular beds- it works with the smaller beds but it made mounting it tricky to keep articulation clearance with my factory roof rack. If you look at my Tacoma link below I think there are pics of the tracks.
