I guess I could have posted an update, but we're at the stage where there isn't much to show.

Basically, I'm working to get all of the corners filled in and squared off as best I can. Maner gave me some direction and I went to work. I did a bit of horsing around and, of course, cooking on Saturday, so I didn't get a ton, but it's basically taking edges that look like this:

    20200208_172355.jpg

And working them to look something like this:

    20200208_172405.jpg

Those are two different edges, but I forgot to do a before/after on one. It's tedious, but all in the pursuit of a really nice, clean final paint job. Too much quality work thus far to betray it with crummy finishing work.

Oh and I bought a trailer. Change of plans from the original idea, but this is a bigger and better idea. Pics of that later.:D

That will likely be the name that sticks in TW lore.

Right now, I'm leaning towards an alpha numeric model name, but dubbing it "The Bull". I like the sound of it and it's easy to reference.

"Tomorrow, I'm loading up 'The Bull' with a few briskets and some pork belly."

It would be cool if you had a longhorn bull's head made out of steel with a mean look and the smoke coming out of his nostrils. Maybe a brass ring in his nose too.
    In! :spending:

    Funny thing about my username.

Waaayyyyy back in the day, we had those AOL disks where you got something like 20 free hours of online time. I had to set up something for an e-mail address, instant messenger, or something, so I needed a screen-name. First thing I thought of was my initials - BV.

I was trying to think of something "cool" that I liked. I had never lived in a city with a professional sports team, so, at the time, I was a Michael Jordan fan and, thus, the Chicago Bulls. - Bull

Being in the mid-90s, the "future" time, when all the cool stuff was going to happen, was the year 2000. - 2000

The very first screen-name I ever had for anything was bvbull2000.

When we ran out of hours, we popped in another disk, but "bvbull2000" was already taken for a free trial, hence bvbull200.

That's been my screen-name for basically everything in the 20+ years since. It really doesn't have any meaning to me other than I've just been too lazy to think of something else .

That said, folks have kind of known me online as "bull", so I suppose that's something. I also like that "The Bull" sounds like a mountain of a beast, which this pit will be.

The alpha-numeric name would be more likely to incorporate Pitfaced BBQ in it. PFB-GF01 (Pitfaced BBQ Gravity Fed 01).

I'll get something slick sent up to @Kanyon71 and his laser beams ;).
