good lord swapping over to this MinnKota Ulterra is going to be spendy. I just purchased a new rear transducer since im removing my Lowrance set up in favor of the Humminbird set up that im getting with my new Ulterra trolling motor. Bought a second Humminbird module screen to have up front while im using the trolling motor to keep the one in the rear stationary.

Now if i wanted to link the two i could with another $250 ethernet switch so then i'd have the "one boat system" all linked together.

I may wait to link the two together to see how this works and if it becomes a pain ill buy the switch so they're in unison. This little project is going to $150 me to death. I also didnt realize this model is a 112lb thrust and 36v, time to buy another battery too!

Totally would if I didn't have our yearly audits running all week. I'm swamped from 8-5 through Thursday. Super lame. Its supposed to be even nicer today and tomorrow than later this week/weekend too.

Holy shit. That does sound like an expensive project. Should be worth it though... but a $250 ethernet switch? Fuuuuuu. I wouldn't have expected that to be so expensive. That kicker is that the ethernet switch upgrade would probably be heaven too.

Not only that but then you need all the NMEA cables.

One of the reasons I went with Garmin is because I can run one Ethernet cable, same one you use on a PC, and link both fish finders together. Dropping my boat off on Saturday and getting a 24v 80lb thrust Minn Kota Terrova installed and a recessed trolling motor tray. Then I'll add my secondary fish finder to the bow.

Now Sam will have room to work over my setup. I'd also need to get a switch to expand.

    its brutal haha

i think i can get away with having the two separate. The Ulterra with i-pilot can work off the front Humminbird and my remote, which i can keep on the lanyard on me and deploy/auto pilot instead of having the need to program it off the rear finder and let them network.

Ill be installing it soon (after this weekend). So i should know pretty quickly if i need to jump to that ridiculous ethernet hub and cables.

This trolling motor needs to be 36v so now im looking at the MinnKota 4 port charger/tender ($350) so i can charge all batteries off one plug in which would be heaven once you come home and unload the boat after a day on the water.

Otherwise im looking at unhooking the three up front and charging individually. bleh
