Since we're having a buzzbait clinic, what do you guys think about soft plastic trailers for them? I've been using a paddle tail swimbait but I have to reel pretty fast to keep it buzzing and I have already missed a short strike.

I personally don’t throw a trailer on mine because I bend the blade a little towards the wire so the blade makes a clacking noise and if they don’t hit it like that I’ll bend it away for a more high pitched sound. When I rarely throw a trailer, I’ll bite half of a keitech swimbait off and just thread it on there. I tend to let the fish tell me what they want. I deflect and throw my buzzbait in some nasty stuff if I can. I ain’t scared of loosing it lolol

Yessir, anytime. Trial and error. In all honesty, I’ll argue that you may catch your PB on a buzzbait. Big fish love buzzbaits.

Yep, I've caught them that way. I tend to try my power baits out until I've decided they're not working then switch to t rigged worm or drop shot worm. As for attracting large bass, I've got a big assortment of jigs I'm gonna be trying this spring which I'm hoping will bring me some success.

Watermelon seed with same chunk or black and blue is all I throw. End of fall/spring our crawdads start to molt and change to a brown with some red on them.
