Somewhere I saw a thread about a seatbelt chime delete mod, I didn't read it. All that needs to be done is unplugging the seatbelt wiring under the seat. It's a small black plug and the harness has black camel tubing covering it. When it is unplugged the truck thinks the seatbelt is plugged in at all times.

Is that all that's affected by unplugging this? My dealership won't do it and the ODB2 app I tried won't let you change things on 2015s.

Cool tip! I would see this being useful if you're out hunting or in the field. Definitely for a ranch vehicle. I typically am not bothered by my indicator but will keep this in mind.

I learned an effective trick a long time ago and have been using it ever since. I pull the seatbelt across my body immediately after I get in, then clip it into the latch mechanism on the opposite side of where the lap and shoulder belt deploys from. Works every time. As an added bonus:
It helps prevent my decapitation in the event of a rollover.
It helps prevent the complete destruction of my grey matter in the event of a forward collision.
It helps keep me in my seat where all the controls (steering wheel, pedals, etc) are accessible in less than ideal driving conditions like bumpy or slippery surfaces. Etc

Also does not affect the airbags.

DO NOT DO THIS. YOUR AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT.

I know from being in a car accident without a seat belt on that if the computer thinks you do not have a seat belt on, air bags WILL NOT deploy. If you aren't wearing your seat belt it is actually more dangerous for the airbags to deploy in the event of a collision. For that reason they are disabled until you have your seat belt on.

Don't be a dumbass just use your seat belt

Recommend MODS delete this thread as it contains information that could be dangerous to anyone stupid enough to do this. Or you know maybe we can thin out the gene pool...... Yeah, on second thought let's let Natural Selection take over here.

@jberry813 what do you think? Should this dangerous misinformation be removed? Or do you have insight on this affecting airbag?

My wife & I would be dead at 43 had it not been for seatbelts and airbags.

Just saying. But my beep is disabled right now. Please buckle up folks!

You all go off on these weird tangents that you don't understand at all.

The truck thinks there is a person sitting in the seat with their seatbelts plugged in at all times.

IT DOES NOT AFFECT THE AIRBAG.

Use your heads.... delete the thread... what in the actual f____!
