Has anyone installed or confirmed this kit to work on a 2016?

I installed it in a 2017. It will definitely work in a 2016.

Sorry for what… the answer is in the thread the question was asked and you linked (in fact I’m sure in the last page or so)

that 2nd link also sends you to this thread in the first couple posts.

Your post was a nice way to say search and read… the answer is right under your nose

Finally installed. As was mentioned to me no issues on a 2019 with factory bed lights.

The install took longer than I would have liked. I had to take the tailgate/bed clips off when I left the wire too short inside the tailgate, I think the order of a couple things should really be switched around in that area. No issues in the interior, but getting the metal ties clipped was a PITA right at the muffler. I'm glad I did this on a clean underside.

Got to crawl around in the snow and get this installed today. Works great and definitely not as loud as others I’ve heard. Worth the extra $ to me to get a fused harness, insulated wire near the exhaust, and all the other OEM parts.

One thing that’s a pain is if you have a tailgate seal installed as it takes up that gap between the bed and tailgate. Was much easier to remove and install the wiring and clips with the tailgate shut.

Same here .... got the kit as a Christmas present and finally installed it yesterday. Pretty straight forward, glad it’s finally done.

Concur. I did mine today and the toughest part for me was the the two clips in/between the bed and tailgate. Took me the plus side of two hours to complete, but I move slow and methodically :)

Thanks for the info. Ordered mine today. For anybody considering it, it looks like Toyota is doing at extra 10% off right now. Got mine for 128.52

Finally installed my kit yesterday. Took about 3 hours but I’m slow. Couldn’t really be any easier.

I hear ya, it took me about that long but 30 minutes of it was having a beer or two and taking my time. I wore my ski gear, haha, but even with that being waterproof, I had to get up and take a break here and there, laying in the snow is cold.

I just ordered this from my local dealer and should be here this Friday. Glad I came across this topic before I pulled the trigger on "pop & lock". Seems this is the better way to go even it cost more. I'm getting tired of using my key all the time. Can't wait to install it! Also, Printed the posted instruction. Thanks everyone!

I'm very grateful for all the info on this subject. I've just placed an order for the oem remote tailgate lock kit.
    Mahalo!
