A $2,233 discount is pretty wimpy. Tacoma buyers are getting between 10% - 13% off MSRP.

I think ProOne is right here. Also consider supply/demand, are the TRD Sport's super common or conversely, super rare in your part of the country? I think the stronger deals come from trim levels that are more common/available.
I could be totally off base, and honestly didn't look too much into the TRD Sport trim so I'm not very well versed in those specifics.
Be patient, expand your search territory as well as more of this thread and look for pricing information specific to your part of the country. Perhaps 5% is going rate out there??
Ultimately, remember, if you're happy with the truck and you think it's worth what you paid, I think that makes it a good deal. My $0.02.

Fully loaded doesnt mean anything. 10-12% off msrp is about the standard people have gotten. In reality the truck is worth what it is worth to you. If you are ok with the price and really like the options then buy it.

The price people get on these trucks is dependent on a lot of things, but location is probably the biggest factor because demand for Tacomas varies widely by region. Point is, it's impossible for you to know what is a good price or a bad price without knowing the details. It's easy to say you won't pay above a certain price, but finding a dealer that'll give you that price is the challenge.

Whenever anyone who hasn't recently purchased a third gen tells you you're overpaying, take it with a grain of salt. Tacomas have gotten more and more desirable as time has gone on making getting discounts harder. Here in the Pacific NW, Tacomas are extremely popular, especially in urban areas where space is at a premium. If you go to Big 3 territory in the Midwest you're going to get better deals. I negotiated for weeks across multiple dealers to get a little over 10% off a loaded MT TRD Sport and I had to go to an out of state dealer.

I dont take it with a grain of salt. It is just a nonsense comment from someone who has no idea of what they are talking about.

I’d try for around 38, 39 range but if it’s your truck a few thousand doesn’t really make any difference. Any dealer comps? I get free oil changes as long as I own it and unlimited use of their car wash.

I disagree about easy deals in the Midwest. I live in Ohio and Tacoma prices are near the highest in the country in these parts because dealers don't tend to have much inventory, so demand is high relative to availability. I just got 10.5 percent off MSRP on my 2020 DCLB OR and that's as good as it gets around here.

Interesting! I grew up in the Midwest and always notice how much more common domestic cars are there compared to the coastal cities.

Great deal. New? Do you mind sharing the numbers? That sounds too good to be true.
Many here will doubt it and really who could blame them.

Yup, new in June 2019 in Placerville, CA. TRD OR DCSB with tech package, they even threw in a bed mat and all-weather floor mats. I honestly don't remember the exact sticker price but I do know it was $42k and a few hundred in change. I drove out after paying $34,078.

That process I posted is definitely time-consuming, it took me about a month to narrow down my search and had to drive about 3 hours to the dealership but hey, that was worth paying so much less. If anyone has questions on how I did it I'm happy to help anyone pick up a new Tacoma (or any new car really)
