:spy: just a quick pop in, see how everyone's doing. No OT for probably up to a month. I'm just sitting on my hands until further notice.

On the hunt for the nut size for the shock assembly bolts. Fuck'n Michigan salt chewed the shit out of them. I don't want to reuse them after spending the time and money on new springs and shocks. They are a fine thread, 14mm... I think. I'll throw a wild, incorrect guess in the 1st gen lunch table thread. It'll only take a half dozen post before someone tells me I'm wrong. Everyone wins!

Compressing the springs can be a little stressful.

I know how to do the job without a spring compressor, but that method doesn't work when the truck is on a lift.

If I was local I'd offer you my starrett thread gage. Just take one into ace and find a bolt that fits and that's your nut size.

Tell me more about this bolt gauge.

I've never had good luck taking an automotive fastener into a store to compare. Seems like they are always just a tad incorrect size.

Just put that on the bolt end and when there's no gap you know you have the right pitch. then you just go buy your nut.

You could probably get away with a cheap one, but the leading standards are Starrett or Mitutoyo.
