I'm not a fan of people hammering on new members. I'm not an elite 'my shit don't stink' type of person. But if someone is relatively new I think folks should cut them some slack.

Sounds like my work. The same day they announced some layoffs they also sent out a co-workers promotion and some open job postings. Poor timing.

When I hired in, it was to eventually take over the GM spot, for the soon retiring current GM.

She retired in December.

Boss man calls me in for a "review" and his wife tells me that the plans have changed. She is going to be the GM so that they can save the money. (She was getting a salary for not even working there...)

I asked what my the new plan for my advancement there was....They dont have one.

Then, THEN, they ask me to start helping out on a couple committees. Keep in mind, I'm a sales guy....They want me on the ISO Continuous Improvement Committee to help them generate and straighten out the quality department. They also want me to continue developing the automotive vertical, but they dont want me to "waste" money on seminars, conventions and training events.

All of this, with NO raise, no added funds and they increased my sales goal dollars making it harder to hit commission.

 

Fuckem

 

I'll be telling them this week after the "1st plant meeting under new leadership" that I wont be adding any more responsibilities without more salary, and that they will need to have a new plan for my advancement by the end of the quarter or I'm leaving.

Here's the thing. Its a tiny little print shop in the middle of nowhere, indiana.

They have absolutely NO structure or training system.


I'm literally in school for Organizational Leadership and Development. I've done more at bigger companies.
