I really thought it could have gone either way. I think Reyes won rounds 1 & 2, while Jines won round 4 & 5. Round 3 was completely up in the air.

Sounds like the right decision from what you guys say. Dana White always says dont leave it to the judges if you want to win.

Seems like Jones is a little more interested in just doing enough to win then he used to be. You don't see the spinning elbows off the clinch like he used to do. A bit less aggression. Like he wants to use the least energy that is possible.

He was so fast and deadly with the spinning elbows

3-2 Reyes. Jones is gonna lose that belt in the next 1-2 fights if he keeps performing like this IMO

It's a mystery like where did Aldos leg kicks go? He used to win fights on those alone. Now he throws 2 a fight.

I'm not sure if you guys realize it but if you have ESPN+ you can re-watch the fight for a few days after the fight.
I've watched it twice since Saturday and and I have it rounds 1,2,3, Reyes, and he also came out very strong in round 4, so I would call round 4 a draw.
Even though the second half of round 4 and all of round 5 was all Jones, Jones wasn't nearly as dominant as Reyes was in rounds 1 thru 3,
in fact Jones was unable to capitalize on the fact that Reyes was slowing down.

I don't practice any type of martial arts, but we all know that MMA fighters spend countless hours of defensive techniques,
Reyes was the first fighter that I've seen counter Jones leg kicks by kicking the shit outta Jones legs,
and Reyes takedown defense was also extremely impressive, Reyes stuffed every takedown in rounds 1-3, he also stuffed one out of two takedowns in round four,
and the two takedowns that Jones did land were only for a split second, Jones did zero damage and Reyes immediately got back to his feet and peeled Jon off.
Considering that Jones couldn't keep Reyes down and didn't do any damage, I just don't see how those brief takedowns could be considered dominant,
on the contrary Reyes takedown defense was pretty damn dominant. I will say that Jones definitely has a good poker face,
because he admitted that there was a couple of times that he got cracked and he couldn't see for a few seconds.
If you have ESPN+ you should watch it back, the more I watch it the more I'm impressed by Reyes.. and there's no question that he won the fight.

You don't need to be that close, even 20th row from the floor is still a nice perspective.
One thing that's a little different about a live event is you can't hear any commentating, but they do sell a small UFC radio with earphones for about $20,
just be sure and buy it early and figure out the frequency before the main card starts, I saw a lot of people back in line annoyed cuz they couldn't figure it out.

I'm home sicky today so bear with my long winded rants.
Now I've heard it all, one of Jons coaches says if the fight would've continued for five more rounds then Jon would have won anyway.
I was really surprised to hear Joe Rogan not only agree with that BS but then he also goes on to say "if it was a school yard fight, then whoever is winning at the end is the winner".
If it was a school yard fight or a street fight, then Jon was blatantly running from Reyes like a bitch in rounds 1 thru 3,
that reminded me of Diaz vs. McGregor 2 when Conor was running from Nate most of rounds 4-5, we all remember Nate pointing at Conor and laughing, like - you're a bitch!!!,
    then Conor gets the decision.

This Joe "what if ?" Rogan theory is so fucking retarded, because there have been so many great UFC comebacks stories over the years,
they've even had entire shows dedicated to comebacks - Muir vs. Lesnar , Lesnar vs. Carwin, Muir vs. big Nog, Tate vs. Holm, Trujillo vs. Varner,
Henderson vs. Shogun, Tim Boetsch vs. Okanami, Anderson Silva vs. Sonnen, etc, etc... Joe literally sounds like someone that's never seen a UFC fight before.

I think the biggest thing about Saturday's whole card is the inconsistency in scoring from one particular judge (I think his name is Soliz).

It isn't exactly the worst call in mma judging. It was close either way. Plenty of fights could of went wither way. Jones vs Gustafson 1, Bisping vs Hendo 2, GSP vs Hendricks. Even on that same card Lee beat Murphy in my opinion.

I saw on state is gojng to start doing live scoring. I think something like that will at least take the mystery out of it in the end.

You seriously think Bisping vs. Hendo 2 was close ?, where Bisping looked like he got beat with a sack of rocks at the end of the fight.
That shit pissed me off, the only reason they gave it to Bisping was because the fight was in England, so Henderson got robbed of the belt in his final UFC fight.

No, I thought Hendo won. I'd say a more worse decision then Jones vs Reyes

Jones vs Reyes was a close fight. If their wasn't already a bunch of bone headed judges calls prior the this fight I don't think it would be as big a deal. There was and now it is. lol

They just shouldn't have bigger fights in places with athletic commissions that aren't used to mma. Houston was a risk, way more risky then Nevada.

Agreed.. I would love/hate to seen them fight again. I would love it because it would be a great fight and I would like to see Diaz beat his ass. I would hate it because the UFC is so one sided they would give Conor the win, even if Diaz controlled all 5 rounds. Dana White is a smart man and Money talks.
