I have a 2019 TRD OR without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The radio head unit has EnTune and it’s own GPS system.
If I buy a 2020 Tacoma radio will it bolt and plug into the same location and function fine? Thank you.

I asked at the dealer, was told it should be plug & play and was quoted nearly $5k for the new jbl head unit. No thanks.

Been discussed pretty thoroughly here, general consensus is the price is pretty crazy. Better to just go after market.

Yes. I want to take out the EnTune...it’s terrible. The Navigation is also from 1982, awful.
So if I bought a 2020 head unit would the fit and connections be plug and play? That is my question.

Don't know if it's just mine or what but my "new style" headunit is slow. Touch the screen and it has a sec to sec and a half delay. Also the lock sensor on door handle is like 2 secs slow after you touch it. Don't know if you want that.

So you want to go from entune to entune?

Also no, the navigation is not from 1982....

Hmmm... Interesting. Obviously the lock functions aren’t controlled by the radio, so what the heck is going on?

NO! EnTune to Car Play. I have no idea why people were posting radios out of a 2019. That is what I have. The navigation is awful. So awkward to use. Infuriating.

EnTune is awful too. That’s why it’s been eliminated.

So you have nothing to offer the thread? You just piped up to mention the Nav isn’t actually from 1982 and erroneously ask if I’m looking to change from EnTune to EnTune?...Christ man.

What makes entune terrible? I'm still trying to figure that out.

Yeah, I didn't even think navigation (GPS) was a thing in 1982.

    To answer the original question,
The 2020 radio will NOT match up with the 2019 or earlier.
Spend the money on a flagship Pioneer or Kenwood and get an actual good radio with useful nav, more power, better screen, more camera inputs, more audio settings, etc

Factory Blackout package, Soft roll up bed cover, Cheap seat covers, Front and rear dash cam, AVS in channel vent visors
Aftermarket is much cheaper and crutchfield will have the adapters to make it easy.
